I completely understand that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is comfortable working with NSA Ajit Doval and that the two appear to have built a strong working relationship over the years. But governance cannot revolve around one individual forever. The least the Prime Minister could do is expand the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB) and create more opportunities for deserving officers with fresh perspectives and specialised expertise. India has no shortage of capable talent waiting to contribute. If the government remains adamant & unwilling to broaden leadership & institutional participation, it risks paying a political price 🤷‍♂️
