Last night, Russia once again launched a large-scale combined attack against Ukraine.

Our air defense forces intercepted nearly all cruise missiles and more than 90% of the Shahed drones.

However, ballistic missiles once again struck civilian areas. Unable to achieve its objectives on the battlefield, Russia is increasingly directing ballistic missile attacks at residential buildings, killing innocent civilians.

Russia is deliberately escalating its use of ballistic missiles, launching them at a scale not previously seen while exploiting the critical shortage of interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems. Worldwide, fewer Patriot interceptor missiles are produced each month than Russia launches against Ukraine over the same period.

Following the President’s discussions with European leaders, I will hold a series of talks today with my counterparts — the defense ministers of countries that have Patriot interceptor missiles in their stockpiles.

We have already signed contracts for Patriot interceptor missiles and continue to secure additional agreements, with deliveries scheduled to begin next year. Our appeal to our partners is straightforward: transfer missiles from your stockpiles now, and replenish them later through our future deliveries.

A simple decision by our partners to temporarily transfer missiles from their stockpiles will save countless Ukrainian lives. We cannot allow bureaucratic caution to become an obstacle to protecting human life.

These missiles belong in Ukraine’s air defense system now — not sitting in stockpiles.

Our priority is to provide Ukraine with additional Patriot interceptor missiles as quickly as possible. The protection of Ukraine’s skies and the lives of our people depend on it.

Last night, Kyiv came under a massive Russian attack. Russia launched 68 missiles and 351 attack drones. Response efforts are still underway. Damage has been recorded at more than 10 locations across the city, including residential buildings. All necessary services are on the ground, doing everything possible to rescue people and provide assistance to everyone who needs it. So far, 64 people have been rescued, including two children. As of now, it has been confirmed that, tragically, eleven people were killed in this attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Around 60 more people were injured.

In the Kyiv region, sixteen people were injured and three people were killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. A fire is still burning at the site of the missile strike in Vyshneve. People are being evacuated from a residential area. More than 400 first responders and police officers have been deployed to deal with the aftermath of the attack.

Our warriors performed well today in intercepting drones and cruise missiles, but unfortunately not Russian ballistic missiles. And the reason lies in the insufficient supply of interceptor missiles. It is critically important that the world – first and foremost the United States and our European partners – come out of the NATO Summit in Ankara with strong decisions in support of our air defense, and thus the protection of ordinary people’s lives. As long as Patriot missiles remain in our allies' stockpiles, Russia is only encouraged to keep “vanquishing” residential buildings. The United States and Europe have enough strength to stop this terror.

The response to the aftermath of Russia’s attack is still ongoing in Kyiv: first responders are clearing the rubble, searching for people, and providing assistance. Damage has been reported at more than 20 sites across the city, most of them ordinary residential buildings. There was also damage to an ambulance station, a research institute, a hotel, and businesses.

As of now, we know that, tragically, 13 people were killed in this Russian strike. My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than 90 others were injured. Everyone who needs help is receiving all necessary assistance. Five people were wounded in the Kharkiv region, including a child, and two more in the Kyiv region, where civilian infrastructure was also targeted. Overnight, Russia also struck the Sumy, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Cherkasy regions.

In total, Russia launched more than 70 missiles of various types against Ukraine overnight, nearly half of them ballistic missiles, along with almost 500 attack drones, including jet-powered “shaheds.” The main strike was directed at Kyiv. Our air defenders managed to shoot down a significant number of the incoming targets, but not all of them.

Air defense supplies for Ukraine are an absolute and critical priority. Contributions to the PURL program remain essential – they directly help save lives. Every bilateral agreement we reach with our partners on air defense truly makes a difference. I am grateful to every leader who is helping.

It is especially important that we move forward with implementing our agreements on the production of anti-ballistic capabilities. We also very much count on a decision by the United States regarding licenses for Patriots and other forms of cooperation. These are the kinds of steps that can stop this war and prevent attacks like this. I thank everyone who stands with Ukraine, with our people, and with our efforts to protect life.

Efforts to deal with the aftermath of the Russian strikes are ongoing in Kyiv, as well as in Kharkiv. Last night, the Russians launched more than 60 missiles at the capital alone. In total, 70 missiles and 611 drones were used against Ukraine. As of now, 28 people have been reported injured and four killed in the capital. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. A Russian strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra set the Dormition Cathedral on fire – a church whose history dates back to the 11th century. And this is one of Russia’s most serious crimes against Christian culture to date. The State Emergency Service has already extinguished the fire on the cathedral’s roof. In Kharkiv, the Russians carried out a repeat strike against our rescuers as they were putting out a fire at the site of an earlier strike on an industrial facility. So far, tragically, five people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Nine people have been injured. In Dnipro, Russia struck the grounds of a railway station, a college, and several enterprises.

Other cities and communities were targeted as well. The Kyiv, Dnipro, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Mykolaiv regions were also under attack. This is how Russia shows the world its intention to continue the war. It is very important that there be a response from the G7 countries, which are now gathering for their summit – and that this response be decisive and substantive: more pressure on the aggressor and more support for Ukraine’s air defense, especially anti-ballistic capabilities. I thank everyone who is helping us protect lives.

Але значно ефективніше ставити подібні дрони на щось рівня «Байрактар ТБ-2», який може бути в повітрі 12+ годин, нести 6-8+ дронів, значно дешевший по вартості за вертоліт (~5 млн $ за борт проти 30+ млн $), без екіпажу і ризику для нього.

Since last night, first responders and all necessary services have been working wherever needed. As of now, at least 83 people have been confirmed injured since midnight. Tragically, there are fatalities. My condolences to the families and loved ones.

It was a heavy attack – 90 missiles of various types, many of them ballistic missiles – 36 in total. There were 600 drones. Unfortunately, not all of the ballistic missiles were intercepted – the largest number of hits was in Kyiv. Kyiv was the primary target of this Russian attack.

Putin can’t even pronounce the word “hurrah” clearly anymore – slurs and mumbles – yet he is still vanquishing residential buildings with his missiles. Launched three Russian missiles against a water supply facility. Burned down a market. Damaged dozens of residential buildings. Hit several ordinary schools. Launched his “Oreshnik” against Bila Tserkva. They really are unhinged.

It is important that this does not pass without consequences for Russia. Today, everyone in the world who will not stay silent and chooses to help Ukraine is a defender of life. It is critically important to continue working to secure air defense for Ukraine, especially anti-ballistic capabilities.

We are doing our best to achieve peace and protect people – everything. It is important that Ukraine is not alone. Decisions are needed – from the United States, from Europe and others – to make that old “Oreshnik” in Moscow finally utter the word “peace.”

A rescue operation is currently underway in Kyiv at the site of a Russian drone strike on a nine-story residential building – an entire section of the building has been completely destroyed. Dozens of people have been rescued. Tragically, one person has been killed. My condolences to their family and loved ones. People may still be trapped under the rubble.

Overnight, the Russians launched more than 670 attack drones and 56 missiles against Ukraine. Ballistic, aeroballistic, and cruise missiles were used in the strikes. The main target of this attack was Kyiv. There is damage at twenty locations across the city – ordinary residential buildings, a school, a veterinary clinic, and other purely civilian infrastructure. Destruction has also been reported in the Kyiv region, while similar terrorist strikes targeted energy infrastructure in Kremenchuk, as well as port and residential areas in Chornomorsk.

In total, since midnight yesterday, Russia has used more than 1,560 drones against our cities and communities. These are definitely not the actions of those who believe the war is coming to an end. It is important that partners do not remain silent about this strike. And it is equally important to continue supporting the protection of our skies. The PURL initiative is needed so that Ukraine can defend itself against ballistic strikes like these. And likewise, in the interests of everyone seeking peace, pressure on Russia must continue.
