Im afraid it's time for me to leave. I'm thankful I got to spend my last moments being held by Wolfen.
He held me close against his tummy, looked me in the eyes and told me it's ok. I felt safe and loved before falling asleep. Thank you all for your love. Farewell, kweh!
Chocos ashes have come home.
I will be putting together a eulogy post for his twitter in the future.
If you'd like to be involved by helping or donating art for it please get in touch, everyone is welcome.
Choco loved you all unconditionally, its time to say a final goodbye.
@ChickyThoughts Thank you for this kindness. It's an honour to be able to keep bringing a smile to people even after passing on. Thank you and farewell.
My medication doesn't exist for birds... only people. So my human has to get it from a people chemist and work out the dose himself for a bird like me.
I dont know why its taking so long to do everything, and my human is highly aware every day that passes more unrepairable damage is caused and its really upsetting him.
I still dont have my medicine. The prescription was ready on the 1st, it only got sent to my local yesterday, today they tell me they cant fill it because it doesnt exist. I hope I dont have to wait another week, I should have started this medication on the 25th July...
@BirdNerdSophie Still only strong suspicions, but likely some form of kidney failure resulting in one or more types of gout forming. Trying to get a prescription of allopurinol to slow or hopefully stop it progressing before things become painful and other measures need to be considered.
I have a degenerating condition.
It is not going to get better, it will get worse.
I have already lost use of my feet and will likely effect my internal organs soon. My human is trying to starting me on medication to help, but it isn't a cure.
How long do I have? No way to know.
I'm really distraught tonight, I'm comparing pictures of Chocos feet from the 29th June to ones today... I cant stop crying, how do none of the experts know what's going on, have advice to stop or help this. This isn't right, how can no one be able to help. This is a nightmare :(
No stream today, Chocos had a vet visit today to have a bandage removed so Wolfen will be spending the evening on discord chatting and cuddling Choco to help him feel better.
Did you know Choco has his own twitter if your interested in his POV? @Chocobo_IRL
Back from Peak Vets, they we're wonderful. Gently removed my bandage with magic spray, I only bled a little but it stopped right away. They gave me some tiny tape and gauze in case I need. Hoping I heal up nice now the bandage is off.
Back from avian vet in Nottingham. They cut my leg open a bit to get a sample, it hurt a lot and I bled a lot but I have a bandage now that I'm not allowed to chew. It's hard to walk and perch, I'll sleep on the floor tonight.
I've been given a THIRD prescription medication today, this stuff must be important. Wolfens had to mix it himself and store it in the fridge! At this point I'm starting to think the vet doesn't know whats wrong with me and just trying anything. :(
(Synulox drops 0.1mL 2x a day)
I am back home, I made it through the x-ray and anaesthetic.
The results from it are "inconclusive" but I'm trying to convince my human that is a good thing, he is still extremely worried and scared.
Please send him your support he really needs it, hes scared, he needs his flock
I went to the bird vet today.
They think somethings wrong inside me. I'm having an x-ray on Wednesday, which is scary because they have to put me to sleep for it, I am small so that can be dangerous.
Hopefully it will be ok, and they won't find anything.
The room service here is amazing. Every 3 hours like clockwork my human comes to feed me with a syringe. That's dedication. I should refuse to eat more often, I don't even need to chew!
