Prohibition of cannabis & other drugs in Ireland is handing immense amounts of power to OCGs who in turn use this revenue to fund more harmful criminal activity
@NewstalkFM "encouraging the drug cartels or the drug criminals"
Our laws on the prohibition of drugs in this country encourage drug cartels and "drug criminals". Drug test everyone and half the country would be unemployed by next week.
@BobbySmyth4 This post is sponsored by your local Organised Criminal Gangโข. Thanks to continued support by outstanding prohibitionists, we can continue to finance arms trafficking, human trafficking, the importation and distribution of unregulated and contaminated narcotics.
@SaggersT This will have such a minimal effect on the sale & supply of cannabis/other prohibited drugs in the UK, the article even says "large-scale cannabis cultivation is seen as a key source of illicit income for criminal gangs." It remains illegal, still a source of income for OCGs.
@Independent_ie ITT: People from lower socio-economic backgrounds who drag their kids up instead of raising them up right think they have a leg to stand on for this topic. Best of luck to the parents.
@Independent_ie Fionnan I'm very interested in what you do to maintain your physical and mental health considering your diet consists of boot polish and brown envelopes.
@NewstalkFM Even if/when Kinahan is imprisoned, it will have 0 (zero) effect on the sale and supply of drugs such as cannabis and cocaine in Ireland. Who will be next in line?
@BobbySmyth4 I would argue the most dangerous thing about cannabis is the fact that organised criminal gangs are making money hand over foot thanks to our silly laws that protect no one but the criminals in which it is designed to stop. A kind of sick paradox.
@Independent_ie You mean to say as a country which prohibits cannabis, cocaine, prostitution etc that we somehow invite international criminal gangs to come and take advantage of an open black market?
@carraigeen@BobbySmyth4 Its a good thing it is illegal then & the market is dominated by the most potent strains, no choice other than take it or leave it, and you better believe everyone and their nan is taking it.
@gardainfo You know who doesnโt own a gun? Anyone Iโve ever bought cannabis off in a legal market like Canada. Get these guns off the streets and do away with prohibition
@Independent_ie "Im anxious about x, will anti anxiety medication help?"
Legalise all drugs already. The delicate tip toe around what is "right" and "wrong" is disgusting.
@GardaTraffic A positive THC test at the roadside doesn't diagnose impairment and yet drivers are losing their licences for cannabis use that may have been days old or longer.
All this @DrugWipeUK making a profit while incriminating cannabis consumers! #EndProhibition#CannabisReformIreland
@gardainfo Should be regulated and taxed, this endless game of cat and mouse is good for no one but the organised criminal gangs maximising profits from prohibition.
