Today, the Select Committee honored the legacy of the June 4, 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre, and the courageous survivors who still face transnational repression from the CCP 37 years later. Special thanks to Arthur Liu, proud dad to Olympic Champion figure skater Alysa Liu, and former U.S. Army Chaplain Yan Xiong for sharing their stories from 1989, and the more recent threats against them and their families. All of us believe in the God-given rights and liberties we enjoy as Americans and pray one day the Chinese people will have these rights too.
Today, marks the anniversary of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests — where Communist China’s military violently murdered thousands of students standing up for freedom.
Like the brave man who stood before the tanks, we must carry that same courage and fight for liberty against Communist China’s corrupt regime today.
#OTD 37 years ago, the Chinese Communist Party slaughtered thousands protesting peacefully in Tiananmen Square.
The massacre reminds us that the CCP will stop at nothing to retain power. America must stand against tyranny & with freedom-loving people from Xinjiang to Hong Kong.
The CCP murdered its own citizens 37 years ago during the Tiananmen Square Massacre.
They were murdered because they stood against communist tyranny, and to this day, the CCP denies the massacre ever happened.
That is why @SenRickScott and I want to remind the CCP of the truth by renaming the street in front of the Chinese Embassy in our Nation’s Capital “Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard."
We cannot let them forget.
The Chinese Communist Party on Thursday will mark the 37th anniversary of its use of military force in the massacre of thousands of unarmed pro-democracy protesters in Beijing. https://t.co/wboKIDcV8F
Today, Canadians honour the memory of all who lost their lives, were injured or went missing during the Tiananmen Square crackdown on June 4, 1989. Canada stands with the survivors and the families and loved ones who continue to demand accountability.
37 years ago, the Chinese Communist Party massacred thousands of innocent civilians in Tiananmen Square who dared to demand freedom.
We will continue to stand against the CCP’s ruthless disregard for human life.
