@2hrTV The statement the other day said it’s happening, but I think the tender process only closed a few months ago so not able to properly announce yet
Keep seeing posts like this, as if ITV have spent billions of pounds and a century building the New York skyline just for the World Cup, and not, say, just plonked a sofa, decking and pot plants on top of a warehouse for a month.
As ITV unveil there super-snazzy Brooklyn studio for the World Cup I do feel a bit for the BBC who will broadcasting games back in Salford.
The location will have cost ITV a fortune and the BBC can’t win… if they go then there is criticism every day about the cost and, if they don’t go, they get hammered for staying at home.
Must feel very distant at the moment though.
Got this “sandwich kit” from @Tesco - a mere £3.50 not including bread! (I didn’t pay that much). Helpfully it includes instructions on how to make it a sandwich. Until now I’d always put bread in the middle - thanks Tesco for showing me the correct way!
Very much enjoyed #DisclosureDay. Spielberg returns to themes of certain classic films with an adult pov for the world we’re in today. I wish he still had the colour of his old films but at least John Williams is still there to push the buttons.
@GuyLambertUK@CameronYardeJnr This was surely the most ridiculous of all the stories! Why would they film in secret then keep it on the shelf for 6 months? Makes no sense even in its own bullshit.
Enjoyed #MastersoftheUniverse - it’s a lot of fun, propelled by @DANIELPEMBERTON’s driving score (with @DrBrianMay’s “power” guitar). Decent action, many good gags and we’ve all learnt something.
Overheard a group of people tonight who were not sure if they'd be voting for Andy Burnham or not because they thought he looks a bit scruffy. "He shouldn't be meeting world leaders looking like that" they said.
@eric_ernie_col@sggamwells Am I right in saying Ernie didn’t have any kids, and so there’s no one to prolong the legacy the way Gary and Gail have for Eric?
@CameronYardeJnr@ERCboxoffice Sometimes. But why would they do it this time when they already have other films out and have loads more on the way? Imagine not programming Toy Story 5 because Mando’s tied to screen 1. M&G has done exactly the job Disney wanted (although they probably did hope for bigger BO)
@JamesOldham The road closure is because getting a lift at the train station has been something of a personal mission but the shop owners must have had a go at him for it. I doubt he expected that road to be closed so long.
@gbsheard It’s not an account I follow but comes up a lot in my feed and I’m always amazed how someone with “production news” in their name doesn’t understand how productions or news works.
