Operation Sindoor vs. Operation Bunyan Ul Marsoos
Some of the firsts
One :
Realizing the stalemated status or irrelevance of the UNSC, India didn’t seek to request sympathy from the five of the 1945. Operation Sindoor clearly demonstrated a strong sense of self-confidence and real strategic autonomy and sovereignty.
Two:
For the first time, India shredded the notion that terrorists are separate from terrorist backers and thus targeted both. The notion that certain powerful rogue officers of Pakistani State authorize terrorist attacks was also shredded. This is a new paradigm. Another type of deniability must be invented.
Third:
There was a battle going and a war being planned. In the midst of the battle, Pakistan negotiated for a loan from the IMF, which surprisingly approved it. It matters because most likely Pakistan isn’t fit enough to finance a war but has capabilities to engage in battles. A war can't be won with IMF loans anyway.
Fourth:
The strategic patience and cultural restraint have a limit. That limit was tested on April 22 by the Lashkar Teyba terrorists. Perhaps they wanted what followed. They didn’t benefit from their adventure though. Perhaps they wanted to humiliate India publicly. They seem to be mentally stuck in 2008.
Fifth:
Size matters. Every inch of Pakistan was under reach. I always thought the Nur Khan airbase was the best defended base of Pakistan. It isn’t. The grarrison town of Rawilpindi as the heart of Pakistan’s military and its best-known airbase was hit.
Sixth:
Pakistan lost the monopoly over Islamic Fatwa. The Indian ulema presented a fatwa of their own to their own government. Thus, the religious dimension always exploited by Pakistan to earn sympathy from the Muslim Ummah evaporated. Deoband is located in India by the way.
Seventh:
Keeping secrets in a democratic society is next to impossible, but very little leaked out of India, which shows enormous skills in adhering to principles of operational silence and public unity to assist in safeguarding of secrets.
Note: I have seen very little or no visuals from Operation Bunyan Ul Marsoos to comment on. Seemingly, it never took off the way it was propagated. The ceasefire saved Pakistan’s skin. Pakistan military leadership has made statements and claims over their own achievements, but the Indian skies remained open, flights weren’t cancelled, and I haven’t seen visuals of missiles landing in Delhi or Amritsar.

Well that escalated quickly.
1. Yes - we made fun of a guy's name. It was a huge fumble.
2. We apologized to him directly and offered him $10,000 as a gesture of goodwill.
3. We've been poking fun at customers on social media for over a decade now. We're not going to stop, but maybe next time you'll be the one who gets $10,000.
With the #RazakarMovie releasing this weekend, taking a look at the Razakars and the history behind them.
To understand the genesis of the Razakars, one needs to go back further to the Telangana rebellion, that broke out in 1946. For a long time, the rural parts of Hyderabad State, were divided into what was called as Samsthanams, essentially pieces of feudal territories.
These Samsthanams were under the feudal role of the Doras or Deshmukhs, who ran a brutal and often oppressive rule. They owned most of the land, and collected the taxes from the poor peasantry, and keeping them in perpetual bonded labor( called as Vetti Chakiri).
These landlords were the masters of their own land, and had a good bonding with the Nizam and his nobles. The Nizam on the other hand, hardly had any control over these lands, and let the Doras run it as per their own free whims, it was pretty much a quid pro quo arrangement.
So many of you were asking why the “change.” Here’s why. Secularism was tried. It gave us no-go areas in our cities and suburbs. Naya Nagar shocks you? We have a Naya Nagar in practically every city in the country. Mumbai has one in every suburb, from Yari Road to Behram Baug to Malwani to…you’d run out of fingers.
Does it behoove a nation that says secular in its preamble? Like all good ideas before, this country debauched secularism too. The fuck is “Indian secularism”? Are we talking food? You can have variants of biryani, not systems with very well-defined meanings. A secular government stays out of religion. Patronizing one community over another isn’t how secularism is done. Sarva-dharma nonsense isn’t the government’s job, it’s for the NGOs.
Of course this country is saffron now. Of course the government is openly Hindutva. Of course, this ident secularism. Know why? Because the crap we had before wasn’t either. Had you done secularism right before, there would be no Hindutva today.
So, boo-fuckin’-hoo if this “roz naya zakhm” is getting unbearable. The very existence of no-go areas in our cities and towns makes Hindutva, even in its most grotesque form, worth it.
How dare you?
This country is ours.
And yes this country is yours too.
But not unconditionally so.
Not anymore.
Not even 60 days since they busted a state-within-state, an entire village serving as an ISIS cell less than two hours from India’s financial heart.
How dare you?
You want secularism?
Earn it bitch.
You don’t deserve secular because we can see what you are doing to societies that tried. We tried too. For well over 70 years. You squandered our grace. Everyone’s grace. You have built no-go areas in fuckin’ Paris and Oslo!
We are a poor nation. We don’t have Europe’s resources. Do don’t expect Europe’s patience from us. It’s unfair and it’s undeserved.
We don’t hate any other minority the way we hate you. In fact most of us don’t hate any other minority at all. Kuchh to baat hogi? Introspection might not be your thing, so won’t ask you to. But do give up expecting tolerance from a community that gave you far more of it and for far longer, than is owed to you.
Islamophobia is not just hate, it’s also fear, frustration, exasperation, and despair. Truth is, your dogma trumps your humanity. Whatever you are. There’s no Ganga-Jamuni, there’s only triumphalism and a big yawning gulf that cannot be bridged and…probably should not be bridged.
We met with Israeli women’s organizations & heard about the work of the Civil Commission for crimes against women & children.
We remain alarmed by gender-based violence reports on 7 Oct & call for rigorous investigation, prioritizing the rights, needs & safety of those affected.
The TikTok War: Why High School & College Kids Are Getting The Wrong Information about Hamas & Israel
I spent the weekend trying to reverse engineer the TikTok algorithm, as I am convinced this is the reason we're losing the information war with high school & college students.
This is collective punishment and a violation of international law.
We cannot starve nearly a million children to death over the horrific actions of Hamas, whose disregard for Israeli, Palestinian, and human life overall could not be more clear.
We must draw a line.
