This is the place we call “normal”. But ”normal” was also a crisis, and it’s no place to return to after the pandemic. It’s a place we must leave to safeguard future living conditions. We must start to move towards a zero carbon society while leaving no one behind in the process.
5 years ago world leaders agreed on the Paris Agreement and made a promise to limit global temp rise to 1.5C Yet, the last 5 years were disastrous for the climate⚠️⚠️⚠️
➡️ So on the 11th of December, we are demanding real climate action! #FightFor1point5 🌡 ✊
“Around the world, young women are fighting for our future. Our activism takes different forms but we are working together towards the same goal: changing political and economic systems to prioritize people and our planet.”
Thank you @Malala for letting me guest edit Assembly!

Today, on #InternationalDayoftheGirl let's celebrate the power of girls and lift up their voices.
But let's also acknowledge and tackle all the injustices and challenges girls around the world still face due to gender inequalities.
Then girls will change the world.

Activism is not a crime. Peacefully standing up for the future survival of the living planet should never be illegal. Solidarity and gratitude to our friends in China, Uganda, Russia and everywhere else #FridaysForFuture activists are being arrested.
Today on #worldcleanupday I - along with other activists from @FFF_Sweden - joined Rena Mälaren to clean up lake Mälaren. We scored a great number of electric scooters, batteries, bottles, electronic equipment, plastic bags and God knows what else...
Reporting is not enough.
Connecting the dots is not enough.
Mentioning the link to the climate crisis is not enough
(even though it would kind of help...).
If we are to have a small chance, this needs to be our main focus.
It needs to dominate the news.
All the time.
The documentary about me by Nathan Grossman premiered at Venice Film Festival yesterday. It will come to cinemas in Europe, USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia+NZ in October. And later this year and early 2021 to cinemas in Latin America, Russia, Japan, South Korea, India, China etc.
As it is now, we can have as many conferences as we want. They won’t lead to sufficient changes since the willingness to act and the awareness needed is still nowhere in sight. The only way forward is for society to start treating the crisis like a crisis.
