@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx There is no reason for you to bring him up in this conversation other than as an anecdote. So back up your claim or accept that you cannot blame the vaccine for the outcome.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx The model you have in your head that represents the room you are in right now is wrong, but useful to you, so you don't care about the small errors.
Vaccines DO NOT GIVE IMMUNITY. They give resistance. If you don't understand the difference then you need help.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx 1) I don't need it. You made the claim that they did. Back it up.
2) Infection numbers are much lower after the vaccine. Not a little lower, significantly, so outweighing any possible overestimates (which happened after the vaccine as well!)
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx I don't give a shit about who said what. If you're going to claim they shouldn't have been mandated, you need to show that they were/are not effective. But they were and they are.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx 1) You have zero evidence the vaccines had a role in either outcome.
2) You have zero evidence of the vaccines effectiveness, so zero credibility in your claim.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx Yes, Trump was pushing them to take risks. That doesn't mean that it doesn't work. Show me that it doesn't work. NOT with an anecdote. With data. All vaccines are less than 100% effective. Show me these are well under 50% effective. You can't.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx You're conflating issues again. Anecdotal is you talking about someone you knew falling victim to COVID and then blaming it on the vaccine.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx Have you ever heard of error bars? Nothing in the real world is 100% accurate. The LEAST accurate thing is anecdotal evidence, so you have no leg to stand on, having tried to use that!
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx They're inflated in some cases and hidden/shrunk in others, such as Florida, where DeSantis has prohibited much of the information from being disseminated. In any case, errors always exist, but can be accounted for and the conclusions are solid. As shown by many fewer case.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx You're bouncing around looking for an out, but there is none. On a population level, the models have proven correct. On an individual level, you are completely wrong to make any conclusions.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx You say that because you think a probability calculation is just something you had to do in school. You truly don't understand the basics of probability if you think an anecdote is evidence of anything.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx All models are wrong. The key is to be useful. The models are useful, and they show that the vaccines work, as do all the people not wearing masks, not social distancing, and not getting infected.
@Kit0897@JCastellon19@Eplurib00257384@alx You're seriously claiming that understanding probabilistic outcomes (vaccine/not vaccine) is somehow possible without that stuff? Probability "doesn't fucking matter" when assessing risk?? Seriously???
