@whytwojvy@Puertorock77_ They stopped in 2019. They are probably going to do retailers again because they got sued for pulling their digital purchases from retail stores.
@Puertorock77_ They'll have sales, but they won't be as frequent, and allowing retailers might help. But they don't have to compete with a physical format, which gives the platform holder a leg up.
@Puertorock77_ he doesn't understand that once the middleman is out, they will have way fewer sales. The only reason why they have all these sales because they have to compete with retailers.
@ymnis_v1@Kotaku This is very recent, and this is more on the license holder than on Sony. Sony can't do shit since they don't own the licenses for the movies or properties. If the owner of the license tells sony or any platform to completely remove the said license, they have to remove it.
@mikhaele_ible@Jus_A_Rebel It's the price that's the issue. The PS5 MSRP was $399 and $499 for the disc console. PS6 is going to be $800-$1,000. The only option for both PS and XBOX is to market these consoles as high-end consoles for the hardcore for at least 2 years. Cross-gen will be a thing still.
@Valkyrie26TW@entityrecalls@BitCloudGaming He blocked me all because I said that casual gamers outnumber the hardcore gamers and that complaining wouldn't move the needle since the casuals are the ones who purchase MTX the most.
@CloudWrestling Nope, they only dropped 8th gen so they can focus on Ringside pass and other bullshit. 8th gen you can mod your saves (PS4) when you copy it to a thumb drive. PS5 you can't do that. I don't see any improvements unless they have been working on a new engine for a few years.
@SacredShrimpus@NextGenPlayer only hardcore gamers will do that which is a small crowd compared to casual gamers. I ahve both a PS% pro and a series X so this doesn't bother me.
All these retards want 2006 console wars in 2026 are going to be in for a rude awakening. That competition is unrealistic when developers in the West want to treat game development like a 9-5 job.
@JayWood2010 They should have did it like this . Xbox game studios games exclusive, Bethesda games case by case, Activision games multiplat. That right there is clear and easy to do. They end up confusing people, which is going to hurt them more than helping them.
@JVBetaPhotos@CutTheCap4k So to me, Gaming is much cheaper and there is more value. PS4 games are dirt cheap and you have PS Plus, Gamepass and etc. The hardware might have gone up but games are still easy to come by and are affordable.
@JVBetaPhotos@CutTheCap4k i was always lucky to have a console but i only got on average 1-2 games a year when i was young, and I would borrow games from my friend that i wanted to try out. I also collect model trains and model trains on average is the cost of a PS5 Pro now.
@archinator27@jonsommet@RinoTheBouncer You don't own them fully. Once you lose your account, you lose everything. All platform holders need to fix this. Have your digital library be a separate key from your account so that if you lose your account, you still have your games.
@Nick_Marseil Xbox doesn't dominate globally like PS and Nintendo. The ABK deal, the day one GP, and the lack of console sales are why the games aren't truly exclusive anymore. You guys are too stuck in the past and you think this would help PS when it wouldn't, because the casuals dominate.
