✅Recent reports from Moore’s Law Is Dead stated that Sony is surveying developers if they want physical media

✅Before that, John Linneman from Digital Foundry stated that multiple publishers and studios told him that many in the industry hold resentment for Sony due to their decision

✅Mainstream media reported on the boycotts and outrage on the matter, so the topic is no longer niche or merely on social media

✅Sony became the subject of ridicule from various popular figures across various industries, not just gaming

✅Players continue to voice demand for physical media on every post and stream on all social platforms where PlayStation is active

✅It was also clarified from Sony’s own production facility for discs that production is expected to go down 10% not %90 which means there’s doubt and uncertainty

And that’s why we shouldn’t give up because there’s a chance we could overturn it, and we have time. But if this comes to pass, it will be quite hard to overturn.

We need physical media because eliminating will damage digital gamers not just fans or physical ones.

Please keep supporting true 100% physical editions — the full game on disc or cartridge, not a download code in a box.
Physical games are culture. Physical games are art. They can be owned, preserved, collected, and passed on. Code-in-a-box is not the same thing.
Please continue real physical releases for Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and future Ubisoft games, including on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.

RUMOR: Sony is said to have sent out a survey to developers asking them about how they feel regarding ending physical media, suggesting they are considering backtracking on the decision🚀

“There is a survey Sony sent out to developers that is, what I was told by my contacts, a bigger survey than they’ve sent almost ever before.

There was a question in it trying to ask in a not-direct way: Is there an issue with not selling games physically, asking developers for feedback on killing discs.

Wolverine is still selling plenty of physical copies and Sony is starting to ask devs if they are worried about killing physical, suggesting that if they got a bunch of feedback, maybe they would consider some sort of mea culpa.”
