@bbcnickrobinson @elonmusk Tax payers are compelled to pay the licence fee under penalty of fines and possable imprisonment if you dont pay Court fines. The license fee is raised and enforced by the government for the explicit purpose of funding the BBC. So yes, it's literally state funded, Nick.
