This is just a fear mongering post. Dow wants “trace amount” defined as an actual number. You cannot comply with “trace amount” as a company because it is vague and is up to the regulator to decide what that means on a whim. They want a stated amount something like “one part per billion” so they can monitor it accordingly.

Iran is about a 1/6 the size of the United States so it’s not a small country. They also have ballistic missile launchers that look like regular 18 wheelers. So basically the US has to find every hidden launcher that looks like an 18 wheeler in a country about the size of the entire west coast.

As a former assistant manager I can tell you that no vendor is supposed to be allowed cart blanch to sell whenever, wherever, or whatever they want. You are supposed to be approved for a specific day and/or event and what items you sell can be limited.

However it was brought to her attention the regional manager was right to ban that type of outside vendor sales. It would also be against company policy to ban someone from the premises for their political views. If anyone in the chain of this decision told him that then they would likely be terminated. I can see some Karen complaining to corporate about his politics but that would have simply put it on their radar that he was selling in a way that is not allowed.

Most of the time they promote internally from local stores if possible when opening new stores. Before I changed companies I was an assistant manager on track to manage a new store in the next town over. Neither I nor any of the store managers I knew in my area were loony liberals.

I’ve still got friends managing local stores and anyone kicking someone off the property for political reasons would most definitely have been fired if it came to corporate’s attention. I seriously doubt that’s what happened here. He was violating TSC policy for how outside vendors are supposed to operate whether he knew it or not or was given permission against company policy (maybe because of the free lunches). Vendors are supposed to be approved for specific events on specific days not blanket permission to sell anytime at any store.

As a former TSC assistant manager I can tell you he should not have been given cart blanch to sell at multiple stores any time he wants. Outside vendors are supposed to be approved for specific events or days and TSC can restrict what you sell or not allow sales at all. If he was given free rein it was against company policy and that is why the regional manager revoked it.

If some Karen called corporate about his politics and complained that is not why he got banned. It was because it was brought to their attention that he was selling basically unrestricted and against company policy.

My local store just had a Fourth of July day and there was definitely political stuff for sale. It wasn’t an issue because it was a Fourth of July event. They do restrict sales to themes of events such as only small animals at poultry swaps. It is up to the store manager to keep events “on theme” so to say.

I don’t know who allowed him to sell at whatever store whenever he wanted but as a former assistant manager at TSC I can tell you that outside vendor sales are approved for specific events and/or days. If the way he said he was “allowed” to sell is true then whoever allowed it was violating company policy. The regional manager only corrected what should not have been happening for whatever reason.

This is not the regional manager or TSC corporates fault unless I see in writing that she banned him for his politics. I worked for TSC as an assistant manager and the kind of cart blanch outside vendor sales this guy was doing is not allowed. However it was brought to her attention, her action of banning the type of parking lot sales he was doing would happen to anyone management found out was doing it.

Maybe some store staff allowed it but they should not have. You have to be approved for a specific event or date at a specific location. They may also restrict what you can sell.

She should not be on blast for this!!

I worked for TSC as an assistant manager and all outside vendors are approved on a case by case basis for specific days or events. If he was given cart blanch to sell whenever at whatever store it is against company policy. The ban was what the regional manager should have done in that circumstance or at least revoked whatever agreement he claimed to have or was given erroneously. I have seen no evidence in writing or recorded that he was banned for his politics only his opinion that that was the reason.
