When I think about everything I went through in academia the last four years, I know I can let it fuel me to be a professor who advocates for students. I can let the pain of it teach me so that I can show up for them
Sad to say as of this week I’m officially withdrawn from my grad program. This was a painful decision but ultimately the right one. And it’s certainly not the end of my time in academia, just the end of my time here
What makes a productive #PhD student?
A. A SUPPORTIVE supervisor
B. SUFFICIENT salary each month
C. LIMITED working hours
That’s all needed for a PhD fellow to perform productively.

In academia, no matter how much you work, there will always be more that you can do:
-another paper to read
-more edits to the manuscript
-a new committee to serve on
The key is to recognize that *nobody* can do all they want to. Do what you can and know you're doing your best.
People on the asexuality spectrum belong at Pride—not as allies, but as full participants.
Sadly, as a researcher I’ve found that ace folks sometimes feel unwelcome at Pride.
But queerness includes asexuality. Pride is for ace spectrum folks too.
