@KateAMcMullen Just saw that. It really sucks that she doesn’t seem to consider at all why her daughter might’ve taken the extreme step of cooking her own meals instead of just cooking with her
@KateAMcMullen That poor kid cooks her own meals because her mom cares more about control than about connecting with her daughter and encouraging her love of cooking. Mom’s nonsensical avoidance of “spices” for health reasons aside, that’s really sad to me
Super excited to share this week’s podcast with City Manager Chris Story about next steps for this enormously transformative development in Downtown Spartanburg!
A lot of work is still yet to be done before the stands are filled for the first pitch of a minor league baseball game in Spartanburg since 1994. Today on the podcast, we're talking with City Manager Chris Story about those next steps! https://t.co/vzdpPgmhwh
For a guy concerned with climate change, I’ve been fairly anti-EV
This week has drilled it home
My regular argument is that mode shift is needed, and EV’s just continue to allow bad development and land use patterns to continue.
But after a few days w one in LA, there’s more
Phrases like "game changer" often get tossed around too casually, but with a new minor league ballpark coming as part of what is by far the largest private development in Downtown Spartanburg history, it's hard to come up with a more apt use of the term https://t.co/6KDbPkDQPE
“Irony is a symptom of late-capitalist nihilism, and cringe is the antidote to that”
I don’t know what that sentence actually means, but apparently it’s cool to care about stuff again https://t.co/ot25J3OXxF
Also that context bit is why actual reporters (and I’m lucky to know some good ones) are valuable and why we should have more of them and pay them a lot more
“As a young person in my 20s expecting a child this year, I feel very comfortable with the way we manage nuclear waste, with making more of it and with passing this responsibility onto our kids.”

MLB games are now 30 minutes quicker than last year.
That translates to a loss of $280,000 to $1.1 million in lost beer sales throughout the season, depending on the stadium.
So several teams (Brewers, Twins, Diamondbacks, and Rangers) have already extended their beer sales deadline from the 7th to the 8th inning.
And all the other teams will likely do it too.
“Photograph” is an absolute banger. It’s a power pop masterpiece cosplaying in spandex and teased hair. It’s a Matthew Sweet song without any dirt on its clothes. It’s a Cheap Trick song in orbit around Jupiter. https://t.co/i3htO7Ct6N
