3/7 This used to be the breakfast I recommended for my patients but a heavy glycaemic load was the result and a higher blood sugar for many of them. Using a lower carb approach my GP practice now uses far fewer drugs for T2diabetes Read about it here https://t.co/POeZch5DMr
@oldglstuf Each person needs to calibrate this themselves. Cut out the stuff you don't care about (beer for me) and the big wins (bread, rice, pasta, also veg oils). Then keep going until you are healthy.
Delighted that our paper has been published today in the journal of metabolic health. Our audit shows that carbohydrate reduction is an effective way to manage a range of conditions especially T2 diabetes and hypertension.https://t.co/4HI0Z1aA3J
@oldglstuf Hi Paul, unfortunately, as an audit of service we were unable to get info from the patients as their carbs in grams. More research is needed. :-)
So our low carb diet paper is featured in today’s Times. Nearly a full page Progress!! About 50% of our #T2D patients who chose a low carb diet achieved drug free remission Also improved cardiovascular risk https://t.co/MoDK29wd9B
#Journalclub at the NELFT Library and Knowledge Service. We had very interesting discussions at the journal club today with Suffolk Council Public Health Team. The article we discussed was: https://t.co/2HHuWMpAeU
Insulin causes renal sodium retention putting up BP. So proud our ‘low carb improves blood pressure’ paper has proved incredibly popular look at it’s Altmetric score 👍 https://t.co/qqygCHfzst
In England in 2013-2017, cancer incidence rates for most cancer sites and ethnic group and sex combinations were lower in non-White minority ethnic groups compared with the corresponding White group; exceptions included prostate cancer. https://t.co/dwrlKN6KlO
@HMRCcustomers Dear HMRC. Why have you e-mailed to say my statement WILL be ready in 4 days time. Please wait 4 days then e-mail WHEN it is ready. I logged in for nothing. You created extra life-admin for me. Why send such an inefficient e-mail?
I was worried that low carb meant higher protein and that this was bad for renal function in those with #T2D SO with a prof of nephrology and a senior dietician we looked at the evidence and also audited our practice data GOOD NEWS ! #nephrologists Read https://t.co/IancpzXZ12
Research on the renal function in patients following a low-carb diet for T2 diabetes has shown that LCDs for people with T2D may improve many renal and CVD risk factors https://t.co/0wXLwlTSfU

The best diet is one: That achieves #T2D remission That is enjoyable That is affordable That fits in with your life. Mostly high blood sugar has something to do with what you ate recently, so improving dietary choices is key to better diabetic control and improving health 👍
