Dear Stephanie White,

I know that you are a great coach. I know about the countless hours that have gone into preparing your basketball team to be successful. I know about the sleepless nights.

You deserve better.

When accepting the position of Head Coach for the Indiana Fever, you could not have possibly known what you were walking into.

I’ve seen dozens of hurtful posts from Caitlin Clark fans all over X stating that they refused to watch the WNBA prior to Caitlin’s arrival because they had no desire to watch gay women play basketball.

I have also observed hundreds of posts from these same bigoted individuals calling for you to be fired.

90% of the calls for your job are based upon homophobia. This has nothing to do with your performance. Many of these tweets calling for your job have included gay slurs.

You deserve better.

You overachieved with this team last year, without Caitlin. It is extremely difficult to succeed as a Head Coach in any sport when you have a star player who refuses to be coached.

You deserve better.

I watched your team face the Portland fire without Caitlin on May 20th of this year. Every other player bought into your system.

There was constant ball-movement. The defensive rotations were elite. The energy was electric. Your team dominated the entire game, before winning by 17 points.

I watched as you faced that same team on May 30th with Caitlin back in the lineup. She scored 6 points on 1/6 shooting, and gave up several points as the primary defender as your team lost by 16 points. Caitlin quit on the team that night, just as she did last night.

You deserve better.

Keep your head up Stephanie. These bigots hate you, and this hatred has nothing to do with your performance as a coach.

I’ve seen the arguments on the floor. I’ve seen the yelling. I’ve seen the disrespect that Caitlin has shown, not just to you, but also to her college and high school coaches.

I’ve watched as the air has been sucked out of buildings during games due Caitlin’s awful attitude. I’ve witnessed the destruction of team morale due to her constant whining, entitlement, immaturity, and emotional instability.

You deserve better.

I don’t know how this will end. These hateful bigots are vicious and relentless. If I were the GM of the Fever, I would ship Caitlin and her fans out of town just on principle alone.

Bigotry and homophobia should never be rewarded. I wish the best for you Stephanie. Continue to work. Continue to grind.

Continue to smile while sitting next to your “star player” in postgame interviews as she answers questions about individual stats, ticket sales, and jersey sales, after costing your team victories on a nightly basis.

You deserve better.

@BASportsDude7 @MattyK31 I agree! But what’s truly D1 anymore. There is not a clean line of distinction between low major/mid major/high level D2 in California.

High Major and P4 are the exception. The guy who just left there took a team full of non traditional D1 players and won almost 20 games!
