@Peter_Bukowski To be fair the nuisance aspect is that Caleb was/is playing better than the backups but what is the middle ground that Ben wants.
I just will disagree that the offense he wants to run is the Detroit offense (this actually ignores reports from many).
@Peter_Bukowski There is a trade off efficiency for explosion and I’m not sure that possible with the back up qbs.
Nate Tice compares it hunting 3s in the nba while the other teams are still doing mid range fadeaways.
@Peter_Bukowski@TFOY3193 Week 2 - Where the bears fumbled on the 1 and Caleb injuried himself running into the end zone hahaha against Flores and downpour
@Peter_Bukowski I actually love this debate because half of bears fans were nervous on 4 or 5 of Tyson’s throws over the middle against the Jets (I believe he had all the skill sets of a starting nfl qb but with Chad Pennington arm strength).
@Peter_Bukowski Reminds me Dan Quinn with the falcons (no team has the guts to do this but in the moment both lions and falcons knew they were making a mistake)
@Peter_Bukowski I think the bears are hardest team to predict next year
Obvious prime regression target if they keep same personal
Adding basically 4 players to secondary (2 new safeties and JJ and Gordon back), is literally impossible to predict how defense plays
@moviefan_2000@thedude4442 I think there is a path where the bears win 11 game next year and underline metrics are better (jj/kg healthy and year two offense with Ben)
@Peter_Bukowski@BC2__ What are we doing here?
The bears have an objectively awful defense and yet have been significantly better than the packers D the last 4 weeks (both epa and success), isn’t this why weighted dvoa matters
@Peter_Bukowski Hmmm undrafted fa out of holy cross in year 6 vs 5 star and 2x all sec WR in first year.
Seems like they have the same upside when comparing one season numbers.
@Peter_Bukowski Packers have better qb and defense with legitimate superbowl hopes…I can’t be unhappy with how this season is unfolding for the bears (obviously if they had been the dominant team in the rivalry for the last 30 years I’d feel differently)
