In my humble opinion @jtoddbillings "Remembrance, Communion and Hope" is now the best contemporary treatment on the Lord's Supper in the Reformed tradition.
Check out my review of the book here:

Dear young pastor/church planter good administration, communication and process is a love language for white collar people. If you want to be effective in those contexts work hard at it.
The church is the eye of the needle through which God will pull the whole camel of creation.
This is what I take Paul to mean when he speaks of creation's liberation from bondage: "For creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God" (Rom. 8:20)
This is the state of affairs in the CRC. I have lost track of the number of times I have heard CRC pastors eschew deeper theological reflection for the sake of being pastoral.
@mathyouerickson Yes and yes. The best pastoral practice flows from deep theological reflection and pastoral challenges forces us to go deep theologically for answers.
A symptom of a dying church (and denomination) is when pastors feel like they have to choose between being "theological" or "pastoral," that the real problems are mostly practical and pastoral so lets not get too theological
Can't believe I spent a $100 for this commentary on Revelation, but its @leithart so well, you understand. Still one more volume at same price. Thankful for generous book budget from the church
The lectionary is a good servant but a bad master. Curious that the gospel reading is John 3:1-17 and not inclusive of whole pericope through verse 21. Why cut out words of judgment? Love of God without wrath of God is mere sentimentality
Sometimes finding the right title for a sermon is the breakthrough you need. "The Identity Politics of the Holy Trinity" (1 Peter 1:1-2) on tap for Trinity Sunday.
@PaulVanderKlay Funny you should bring that up . . . this was not locally harvested but I do have some really fat ghetto rabbits that love to plow through all my freshly planted greens but my daughter prevailed on me for fence instead of pellet gun
