@minakimes@danorlovsky7 my first landlord in Boston was the owner/operator of a local hardware store. had to close due to competition with big-box store. told me stories of neighbors coming in for advice before buying the hardware at the big-box store to save a couple bucks. ๐คท
@JetsFanQ@nigerianspy93@JustVent6@minakimes I don't disagree. He was able to turn the defensive side of the ball around but their offense struggled. At the same time, I think it speaks to the scape-goating, wouldn't you agree that the problem was the OC?
@joeyjo35t@minakimes Isn't DA's contract like $70M+ for 25-26? I'm just thinking whoever trades for him isn't likely to keep him for more than this year.
@bldoyle89@AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball At the same time, I think the affect of the new guidance on the game is overblown. As the original post suggests, the athletes will adjust and the game will be, IMO, better.
@bldoyle89@AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball It may sound cynical, but I think the new guidance on the base-blocking rules are probably less about the personal risks to the athletes and more the financial risks to the teams with guaranteed contracts.
@bldoyle89@AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball that's fair, injuries are always going to be part of baseball. and I get that you miss the way that the game used to be played (back in the day). but I would think you could understand measures/efforts to improve the safety and productivity of athletes (with $100M contracts)
@bldoyle89@KevinG28181370@AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball uh ... I actually teach propositional logic and reasoning. but I'd love to hear about your understanding/foundation in logic.
@KevinG28181370@bldoyle89@AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball I struggle to follow your logic, but let me try. While that slide WAS a part of the game, it isn't anymore. That's my point. Also, by your metric, Anthony Rizzo has been *washed for years* Your hyperbole aside, you don't think the Yankees won't miss him?
@KevinG28181370@bldoyle89@AaronJFentress @Leg_baseball he was the Wilson DPOY and led Boston to the division title the year before the injury, so how do you figure?
