In 2024:
· Households accounted for the largest share of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions (25.9%) on this measure, followed by the transport industry (16.3%)
· 140 tonnes of CO2e were emitted for every million pounds of economic activity, down 72.0% since 1990
UK greenhouse gas emissions on a residence basis in 2024 were 478 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, a measure accounting for differing warming effects of different gases. This is the lowest level since 1990, when the series began.

The energy efficient products group accounted for the largest share (42.8%) of total LCREE employment, with 130,000 FTEs.
The low carbon services group saw the largest percentage increase in employment since 2023, rising from 17,600 to 21,200 FTEs, a 20.5% increase.
The low carbon electricity group had the highest turnover at £33.6 billion (43.7% of total LCREE turnover), a £4.1 billion (13.9%) increase from 2023.
Meanwhile, the low emission vehicle group saw the largest percentage increase in turnover since 2023, of 33.8% (£2.9 billion).
