Week 11 (late again):
β Decided to add Story Mode β connecting everything so the world feels alive, not just loose features
β New waitlist signup from an old Reddit comment
β Still no marketingβjust animating,
building a world takes time, but it's fun.
#buildinpublic#indiedev
Week 10 (late β forgot to post, was too busy building):
β Deep in UX, visual effects, and new assets
β Zero marketing for 2 weeks straight - left for V1
β Just building
Sometimes the best update is: still working.
#buildinpublic#indiedev
@pcshipp I have spent over a thousand dollars to make my app and it is not finished. You can save more money just pay one tool and the rest use the free tier.
Week 9:
β Stopped chasing waitlist numbers.
β Focused on what the app should actually feel like β the experience, the branding, the purpose.
I asked myself what problem I'm really solving.
Building something meaningful > building something fast.
#buildinpublic#indiedev
@weavertj Yes, now I'm convinced that it's better to focus on building when you haven't launched yet. The waitlist helps me stay motivated β just one extra person signing up helps a lot in that regard. But the key is not to give it too much importance. Thanks for your comment.
Week 8:
β Major UX/UI improvements across multiple screens
β 1 new waitlist signup β V1 getting closer
β Honest question: has anyone here actually found pre-launch waitlists worth it for apps? Starting to think the real traction begins at launch.
#buildinpublic#indiedev
@Erderrm Definitly, you should take action and don't be discouraged by other people, believe in yourself, the worst that could happen, you will learn something new.
@Skeindem Congratulations that's a good number, I had 0 last week. But let's keep working on our products, there would be people who would love them. Continue with discipline and courage.
@itsssssssuki Yes, it's one of the most important things and what differentiates you from others. Good that you're polishing UI β I'm at the same stage. A clean UX makes or breaks the first impression.
Week 7:
β UX/UI polish for V1 launch
β Created YouTube channelβ3 Shorts
β Tracking focused work hoursβgame changer
π 3 YouTube Shorts got more views than 16 Instagram posts combined. Same content. WTF instagram
Lesson: Go where the reach is.
#buildinpublic#indiedev#gamedev
@LessonsFromProd Thanks, that means a lot. 150 views felt small until I realized those are real people checking out what I'm building. Just gonna keep shipping.
Week 6:
β First Italian waitlist signupβciao!
β Merchant NPC storyline complete
β Shop system progress + integrating missions
π Instagram avg: 150 views/reel β slow but learning
Lesson: Not every week is a breakthrough. Just be consistent.
#buildinpublic#indiedev#gamedev
@TeekoGame Hahaha nothing more relatable than this. Every day I check the db and if there's just 1 person signed up it makes my day. Not even a game, just an app β but the struggle is the same. Buena suerte amigo.
