A Deaf leader means students have direct access in communication. Culture, community, language, all embedded. There’s the shared Deaf experience.

@HeidiGASL Nothing directly related that is a “comprehensive” history of Deaf like Jack’s. But multiple authors have published books focusing on time periods in history.
Whatever you think of it, #CODA is proving to be an impactful movie as far as advancing the dialogue about deaf representation and storytelling.
If you love it, you also need to acknowledge the systemic issues that remain still.
If you don't love it, you probably already know.
