From exclusion to identity: In Baidoa, Somalia, @UNDPSomalia has successfully piloted an initiative that has enabled over 38,000 internally displaced people to obtain their national ID, achieving an average cost of under US$1 per registration.

Legal ID is the gateway to several public services and participation. Reaching 38k IDPs in a month shows that Somalia can close the inclusion gap faster than many imagined. Great opportunity to scale up the successful model to register all Somalis in the digital ID system 👇
