Today I begin my final working day with @EMASNHSTrust as duty operations manager. My last shift after 24 years in the ambulance service. I will be leaving to take up a new post @NHSNLaG Thank you to the amazing people that I’ve worked with over the years.
Controversial view👇🏻
Across the U.K. we prob don’t need the army for ambulances or tents outside ED
We need:
Every ambulance able to offload on arrival
Adequate ED staffing
Every patient to leave the ED when referred… rather than hours or days later

Fatigue in the ambulance service and safety culture:
If a crew states they are not safe to respond on a night shift due to fatigue after a very busy shift, why is there not a SOP in place for safety reasons to support that crew. Not a response of “are you refusing to attend?”
@OJAB_6LP Thank you Miss Pike for having a lasting memory for Sarah. We are really proud of how you’ve supported and developed our daughter despite the global pandemic and the challenges for education, thanks for bud both @chellelong38 😀 enjoy the holidays
@chellelong38 @OJAB_6LP @OJA_Brumby Supper proud of Sarah. Thank you to all at school for helping to develop Sarah’s confidence. I agree with you Chelle fabulous opportunities 😀
@claudelittner As a member of the emergency services who’s worked and continues to work through this pandemic its so kind of you to recognise the skills and level of care of the NHS ambulance service. The green line is thin but we are still there to respond to patients and provide the best care
