One of the most convincing theories about Brand New Day is that MJ is slowly getting her memories of Peter back

First, she draws Peter in his Spider-Man: Homecoming suit at her apartment without realizing it

Second, at the end of the film she touches the necklace Peter bought her in Venice during Far From Home

Third, she’s seen returning to the Midtown School of Science rooftop in Queens, the exact place where she and Peter used to escape the crowd in No Way Home

And fourth, when Jean Grey freezes her, MJ cries. Jean’s powers can restore and repair memories. Most likely what she did fractured the spell and is letting them come back

I think my favorite scene in the movie was when Peter innocently told MJ that it was the most fun time he'd had years later after only a few minutes of chatting with Ned while building Lego together.

I think it was a small and sweet truth about living an isolated and introverted life. Even if it was only a tiny moment it personally touched me the most and my heart melted in the cinema

There’s this moment in Spider-Man: Brand New Day where Spider-Man admits and apologizes for something he unwittingly did while a person was under mind-control. It’s really stuck with me. It’s the act of a good person. I hope every kid takes that with them. That’s my Peter Parker.

Watched “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” A lonely hero. A lonely Spidey. A lonely Peter Parker. It felt fresh, and I really enjoyed it. Until now, Spider-Man films have generally been grouped into self-contained trilogies. With each new iteration, the cast and creative team changed, allowing the franchise to reinvent itself for a new era. This time, however, while both the cast and the story continue from the previous film, everything has been reset. The film focuses on Peter, once again alone, and the loneliness and inner conflict that come with that. It can be seen both as the beginning of a new series and as a direct continuation of the last one. A very clever structure. In the age of social media and its immense power to amplify every opinion, striking the right balance between what filmmakers want to create and what audiences expect has become incredibly difficult. Genuine, heartfelt filmmaking is becoming increasingly challenging. Because of that, this is a film that puts the “Brand” in “Brand New Day” to the test, as part of a blockbuster franchise that simply cannot afford to fail. 🕷️

I saw “Supergirl” in IMAX. It wasn’t a “superhero movie” about saving the Earth through self-sacrifice as “justice” confronts “evil.” It was a coming-of-age story about saving oneself, Kara, as she struggles with her own trauma. Structurally, it feels less like “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015), where everyone is driven purely by survival instinct beyond notions of good and evil, and more like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), where heroes, villains, and scoundrels all converge.
