Reminder as the @Bucks season is almost upon us. In summer 2025 @Giannis_An34 said he was intrigued by states without an income tax. As this season starts and the bucks are in a rebuild, he plays for a team in a state without an income tax. https://t.co/UhloBVZp8N

We are celebrating another Brewer victory on Thursday’s Benjamin Yount Show. We are one win away. Plus we look at how “radical” a zero-income tax plan really is. And the excuse for WI’s drop in mail-in voting doesn’t really add-up. Join us 6-9 on @newstalk1130

[WI Conservatives @ConservativesWi]

ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE! @badgerinstitute is pushing back on claim that they oppose @TomTiffanyWI's income tax comments. They are strongly in favor of significant tax reform done in a thoughtful, responsible way.
@ReformingGovt has also pushed back, reminding people that eliminating the income tax isn't radical, it's extremely popular. 65% of independents and 64% of Democrats support eliminating the income tax.
The @DemGovs @DanRShafer @milwcouriernews should keep pushing their message, but they may need to in-kind it to Tom's campaign.

IRG: Eliminating Wisconsin’s Income Tax Isn’t Radical. It’s Popular

[Chris Reader @ChrisMReader]

"Chris Reader, chief operating officer at the conservative Institute for Reforming Government, said in a post on X that eliminating the personal income tax would "draw new people and capital into the state, turn around the demographic decline, get more kids into our schools, and grow revenues."

[Journal Sentinel @journalsentinel]

Tom Tiffany says he's open to eliminating the state income tax https://t.co/e2uOKLcSA8

[Chris Reader @ChrisMReader]

Wisconsin absolutely should work to eliminate the personal income tax. It’s how we draw new people and capital into the state, turn around the demographic decline, get more kids into our schools, and grow revenues. The status quo tax system pushes people and their incomes to other states. https://t.co/xkeDf5VxkP

[Chris Reader @ChrisMReader]

great op-ed by @JacobJCurtis @ReformingGovt. Too often, government fails basic transparency standards.

[Jake Curtis @JacobJCurtis]

Check out @ReformingGovt's recent op-ed in the @journalsentinel. Unfortunately, some of WI's leading public officials and agencies fail basic transparency standards.

"Transparency fuels good government. Former Gov. @ScottWalker understood this, signing two executive orders that required state agencies to meet minimum standards for responding to and managing public records requests.  Inexplicably, upon taking office, Gov. Tony Evers simply decided to ignore them."

[Chris Reader @ChrisMReader]

And for those that say "but we have extra costs for winter!", so do other midwestern states, yet WI finds a way to spend more. We can do better.

[Chris Reader @ChrisMReader]

Check out @ReformingGovt's Lost Revenue report, detailing where people who leave Wisconsin are going. 65% go to states with flat or no income tax! They take billions of economic activity and millions of potential tax revenue with them each year. https://t.co/ywPrrNOVlm

[Chris Reader @ChrisMReader]

Per capita, WI outspends almost all flat or no income tax states. (and that's before the 2025 budget's 14% spending hike is worked in).

[Chris Reader @ChrisMReader]

This is connected to voters' support of repealing the state personal income tax over time. People understand that government takes too much from their paychecks. When people talk about affordability, it isn't just groceries or energy or gasoline. It's also the high cost of government.

[Chris Reader @ChrisMReader]

Reminder as candidates start promising the world leading up to November, a strong plurality of WI voters want state spending reduced, not increased. That doesn't mean find new taxes to increase spending. It means actually holding the line on spending.

[Paul Ryan @SpeakerRyan]

Our safety net remains fragmented, with benefit cliffs penalizing work & fostering dependency rather than promoting independence. The "RISE" (Resources for Independence, Stability, & Employment) pilots aim to address these flaws.

Look at the key findings here https://t.co/SB6LYBDgf4

[Chris Reader @ChrisMReader]

😲 state government should be open to inspection and oversight by the public- but that can only happen if agencies fulfill basic open records duties and respond to requesters. We asked 19 executive branch offices and agencies for the results of how they fulfill public records requests over the last 2+ years. The results are not good. https://t.co/Ig99FAJua3 @JacobJCurtis @ReformingGovt

[Institute for Reforming Government @ReformingGovt]

🚨 NEW: Most Wisconsin state agencies tested by IRG failed the State’s own public records performance test.

7 of 13 scored offices failed, including the Governor’s Office, DOJ, and Secretary of State.

[Sen. Chris Kapenga @SenatorKapenga]

I've been preaching this for years, and agree with the Heartland Post regarding the risks….

@HeartlandPostWI is spot on with the risks Wisconsin faces if it doesn't get its fiscal house in order. And it's further proof that we need to move toward eliminating the state income tax to remain competitive. New state leadership could definitely help position Wisconsin to retain and attract families, workers, and employers. https://t.co/jo8sX1YD7r
