Today marks a significant milestone in our shared African journey as we officially launch the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) National Programme of Action. This momentous occasion underscores Zimbabwe’s unwavering commitment to promoting good governance, driving sustainable development, and achieving the aspirations of the African Union's Agenda 2063.The National Programme of Action serves as our strategic roadmap. It reinforces our dedication to transparent, accountable leadership and socio-economic transformation for all Zimbabweans. Collective effort remains the absolute foundation of our success.We are confident that under the stewardship of Uganda, the APRM will continue to make meaningful progress in advancing its vital mandate across our continent.I extend my sincere gratitude to my brother, His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, for his steadfast support of Zimbabwe's bid for election to the United Nations Security Council as a non-permanent member. Yesterday, I had the honour of attending the National Fire Campaign launch in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East. The event was officiated by Vice President Cde K.C.D. Mohadi. It was encouraging to see government protecting lives and livelihoods through proactive action.

Today, we are hosting the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, the Minister of War Veterans, and the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare at the monthly interactive meeting. The meeting is being held at Baradzanwa Cultural Village in Mazowe District.

Today I joined other Government officials at the burial of our National Hero, Air Commodore (Retired) Simon Brian Bere.

As we gathered at this sacred place, we were reminded of the immense sacrifice he made for the liberation and defence of our country.

It was an honour to welcome Ms. Shaikha Al Nowais, the recently appointed Secretary-General of UN Tourism, this afternoon. Her appointment marks a significant milestone as she becomes the first woman to helm the organization in its 50-year history.

We discussed enhancing Zimbabwe's standing as a premier global destination and harnessing sustainable tourism as a catalyst for economic growth and job creation. Zimbabwe remains committed to collaborating closely with UN Tourism to showcase the beauty and hospitality of our nation to the world.

On Independence Day, I had the honour of being the Guest of Honour at Chimhanda School Grounds in Rushinga District for the Provincial Independence Day celebrations. We all gathered to celebrate our hard-won independence, which we continue to enjoy today. Zimbabwe at 46th years.

On the occasion of our 46th anniversary of independence, Zimbabwe stands united in our pursuit of progress and self-determination.

It was my privilege to lead the national celebrations at Maphisa Stadium in Matabeleland South, a province steeped in history and the spirit of resilience. Our theme, 'Unity and Development towards Vision 2030,' underscores our commitment to collective progress and underscores that together, we can overcome any challenge.

The day's events, from the lighting of the Independence Flame at Zezani to the vibrant cultural displays in Maphisa, served as a poignant tribute to our national heroes and the tireless citizens shaping our nation's future. We reaffirm our dedication to decentralization, ensuring inclusivity and equity in our development endeavors.
