If we’re serious (which we’re not) we’ll go all out to get Emery.
He’s a winner, that still thrives without a large transfer budget and can deal with adversity.
Bring him to the Theatre.
If you don't understand what David Ornstein is saying here, you will never get it. The structure enforces those successful coaches.
Put them in teams that aren't suitable, they will fail. Build a structure and bring in a coach that suits it. Simple!
Don't go for a coach because he's doing well elsewhere, go for a coach that suits the structure you have in place.
Most Manchester United fans think the Glazers started ruining football clubs in 2005, what they don’t realize is that United was just the ultimate prize in a decades-long history of corporate raiding and greenmail.
Before Malcolm Glazer ever stepped foot on Old Trafford, his entire playbook was built on amassing massive targeted stakes in unsuspecting companies, creating chaos for their boards, and forcing lucrative buyouts
- Formica (1988): Acquired a heavy stake to corner management into defensive buyouts.
- Harley-Davidson (1989): Snagged ~7% of shares, triggering corporate panic until the board reshuffled to protect itself.
- Tonka Toys & Brunswick: Hunted consumer icons, using leverage and board friction for cash extractions.
- Zapata Corp (1992): Bought 38.8% out of nowhere, waged war against the board, hijacked control, and gutted its balance sheet.
When the Glazers turned to Manchester United, they executed the ultimate greenmail evolution - instead of taking a payout to go away, they bought the club, saddled it with over £500M in debt, and made United fund its own hostiles.
The parallels to our situation today are undeniable
- Value Extraction Over Asset Health: Greenmail prioritizes short-term cash over long-term stability. While Old Trafford and Carrington eroded, hundreds of millions flowed out in dividends and interest payments.
- Leverage as a Hostage Fee: The 2005 LBO forced United to pay for its own takeover. Glazers put up virtually zero personal equity.
- Partial Buyouts & Fractional Control: Look at the INEOS / Sir Jim Ratcliffe transaction. Instead of exiting, they sold a 25% minority slice at an inflated valuation to fund infrastructure they neglected for 20 years, all while hanging onto B-class voting control.
We aren't just dealing with poor football ownership. We are witnessing a textbook corporate greenmail campaign executed on a global institution.
@mufcytp You are so wrong. Carrick started Bruno at 10 the first 4-5 games. But the team is so unballanced in the middle with bruno as 10. Therefor he shiftet him wide. Dont be foolish here.
Jamie Carragher on Bruno Fernandes questioning Michael Carrick's tactics:
“For Bruno Fernandes to do that, it's a disgrace. When you think about last season, he got player of the year. That was on the back of Michael Carrick becoming the manager. He wouldn't have got that award without Carrick.
Carrick put him back in his rightful position. And he then went on to have a fantastic season because he's a talented footballer.
But when you think of him as a footballer, he's a talent. But in terms of attitude and the way he goes about things, it's not right at all. And he's reacted like that because he's been brought off." [@CBSSportsGolazo]
🚨🗣️ Jamie Carragher on Bruno Fernandes pressing:
“When he talks about pressing, whether it's man-to-man or zonal, for years, Bruno Fernandes has meant Manchester United can't press because he does things for the CROWD.
I commentate on games watching Man United and he runs all over the place like a kid in the schoolyard for the supporters. They all think he's working hard. He's not. He's killing the rest of the team doing it.”

Open letter to @ManUtd:
The time has come. Enough is enough. Michael Carrick must be removed as manager of Manchester United immediately.
For too long have watched this once-great club slide into mediocrity, embarrassment and chaos. Results have been poor, performances have been lifeless, and the direction of the team is nowhere to be seen.
The players look lost. The fans are furious. And still, nothing changes.
Let us be clear: the blame does not fall solely on Carrick. The owners must finally take responsibility for the disgraceful way this club is being run.
Years of mismanagement, poor decisions and a complete lack of ambition have brought #MUFC to this point. The rot starts at the top. While the supporters suffer, those in charge continue to treat the club like a business rather than a football institution with a proud history and a global following that deserves better.
Manchester United fans do not deserve this. We have stood by this club through the good times and the bad. They fill Old Trafford week after week, they travel across the country and across Europe, and defend the badge with everything they have. In return are given broken promises, repeated failures and a team that no longer represents what this club is supposed to be.
Worst of all, it is now affecting the next generation fans. Children who grew up dreaming of wearing the red shirt are going to bed in tears. They are asking their parents why their team keeps losing, why nothing ever seems to get better, and why the club they love feels so far away from what it once was. It is heartbreaking. It is unacceptable. And it has to stop 💔
This is not just about one manager. This is about the soul of the club. The fans demand change. They demand accountability. They demand that the owners act before more damage is done to a name that once stood for excellence.
Remove Michael Carrick. Take responsibility. Give the fans the club they deserve again.
The time for excuses is over. The time for action is now.
Manchester United’s problem is simple: they keep hiring successful managers without building a structure that suits them.
Stop chasing managers who succeed elsewhere. Build a clear footballing structure, then appoint a coach who fits it.
The structure should outlast the manager, not collapse every time one fails.
@Malachians I have thought about this since Rashford came back. It looks like some players are getting minutes because INEOS wants to higher they value. Sometimes when he plays Rash, Mount Zirkzee etc instead of for example Cunha.
