@deuxmillecc@alpedhuez It always amazes me how many people stop at the cafes and bars as you get into town and don’t even ride on to the TDF finish. And then Lac Besson is lovely and almost always nearly deserted
@100Climbs And on that score you want Augustiner for the king of Munich beers (for Helles style). My favourite is Tegernseer from a bit further south though !
@100Climbs@bianchi_man The 2 ways up via Ried are longer and a fair bit harder. The way I did it (Riedberg forking right at the bottom) is most scenic. The fork left basically puts you on a Mortirolo equivalent at the start (10km, 10-12% in the woods)
@100Climbs@bianchi_man They are all good. I’d favor Aschau over Zell views wise for the first 10k ish up. The ridge/ descent and final push up to the summit is fabulous which ever way you do it. Do come down to Hippach (the way I did it on that Strava file)
@100Climbs@deuxmillecc Come to Zillertal near Innsbruck. I live in Munich and ride there a fair bit. The best climbing location in the Alps for my money. Stunning and way harder riding than anywhere else I’ve ridden (and I’ve done a fair few Cent Cols Challenge events to compare it to)
@cyclingalps The “crazy” road isn’t quite as crazy these days but equally spectacular. Giro history apart, I would recommend riding up the back side to the Galleria Rosazza and descending via Oropa into Biella rather than the other way round.
@cyclingalps @inrng Voting also for the north side from Ponte Marmora. This can combined with the fabulous Colle di Sempeyre if you are feeling particularly adventurous
@cyclingalps I’m even more biased about Piemonte as I used to live there. The Canavese is probably my favourite area of all to ride in (Biella/Ivrea area). Also very partial to Cuneo and its surrounds!
