I counted the rings yesterday. I estimate this friend was 174 years old (at least).
You won't find a bigger stump anywhere in Toronto I'd wager.

The largest front yard tree for kilometers in any direction (IMO) has been destroyed.
There feels like there is ZERO concern for the existing canopy in #Willowdale . Forestry doesn't care, councillor doesn't care, residents don't care. :`( #TOTrees#Lorax
Hey #Toronto did you know @KodoHeartbeat is performing TONIGHT at @roythomsonhall and there are still tickets available.
First time they've been in Canada in years - "ONE EARTH"!
@straczynski has been raving about them for years πͺ and when has the Great Maker ever been wrong?
#WestWillowdale tree mysteries never cease. This beautiful tree on Diagonal as been dug up, and moved a few meters over. That's right. Why have a perfect tree in the yard when you can dig up your driveway and put it there, exposed tiny remaining roots and all. #TOTrees ?!?!
@311Toronto FYI doing that meant that this was assigned to the wrong department (transportation instead of water). The person from transportation didn't want to take a look unless they could drive to it /shrug
@311Toronto Every time I try to use your website to report something -- it fails me in one way or another.
This time, the issue is too far away from the road so I can't drop the pin.
What do you suggest?
There is a 'manhole' whose cover has been push aside by a heavy machine...
@311Toronto Now you're just having a holiday laugh at us all eh? 6 months to be able to get a 'beg button' fixed to cross the Allen.
Maybe somebody is 'out of office' and this is the 'default'? Not a good feeling.

And while I have you for that area... it is likely 'private property' but just open to the public but across the bridge the 'stormwater' grates on the path are installed so wheels get stuck in them as they are aligned with the path instead of going in another direction.
Also just north of there, there is 'flooding' but it is beside the river so likely 'normal' -- except the 'weir' that is there is very clogged with debris (logs etc) which is likely causing the water to 'go around', causing the flooding.

I wish @311Toronto was usable.
The play structure at @DempseyPark was graffiti-ed ... but there is nowhere to submit this issue using their system.
Ah well. Once upon a time they were ok cause they allowed you to email them.
Now... we are out of hope.
@311Toronto Has there been some change to how many garbage cans parks get? @DempseyPark has had all their bins consolidated again. Policy change, or the biannual attempt to mess things up that needs review? @TorontoPFR
Note if you're signing up for the walk via the Downsview site, currently the "All Walks" page has the wrong 'register' button. Go directly to this week's walk @ https://t.co/lQUjc57viP to get your spot secured!
Cheers

When my children were small I always had them make 'thank you' cards for the adults who helped lead the programs they took, but never gave it much thought what it meant to the people getting them.
I got one yesterday from a child at Jr Forest Explorers. Wow, what a nice feeling!
Congratulations to Mo Qazzaz and Luke Antosz for winning "Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Television Series" last night at the 11th annual @TheLMGI awards!
Mo also won last year for his contributions to The Last of Us. :tada:
And their crews doing the clearing obstruct the pedestrian right of way sending everyone into high speed traffic to go around them with zero effort to mitigate that risk. tisk tisk.
Followup on this one. @TorontoPFR has been back at least twice destroying these homes each time.
Would be very interesting to audit the decision making here... how do they decide this person needs to go and this person can stay undisturbed? Feels totally biased/targetted
Sad to see @TorontoPFR tear down an encampment structure in my 'hood this morning. When I spoke with their staff a couple weeks ago in support of my neighbours, they assured me nobody was getting evicted.
Just their home was destroyed... seems like the same thing to me...
