@GovPritzker "Just existing" does not include a right of unfettered access to other people's children. "Just existing" does not include sterilizing children with puberty blockers or surgeries that remove healthy body parts.
Oh wow, this is horrific. Allison was a really nice person, very intense, but also very genuine. I never met her in person, but she reached out to me many years ago because she knew I was working on Russiagate and wanted to share her stories and we’d chat from time to time.
She was absolutely apoplectic about the fact that her former boyfriend, Charles McGonigal, got a total sweetheart deal after everything she had witnessed first hand (and reported as well). He was the guy investigating supposed Trump Russia collusion while he was the one actually doing the colluding.
I still have a message from Allison that I hadn’t gotten around to replying to. Seeing this now is just incredibly sad. RIP.
there’s a Pakistani real estate agent running to be the mayor of a major Canadian city and he’s using AI to generate his campaign ads but the AI is coming up with complete nonsense and he doesn’t seem to know that because he barely speaks English.
here’s his latest
It is a perfectly reasonable standard for a society to set that if you murder a child, your life is over. If you wanna let an insanity plea spare them from the death penalty? Fine. But they must die in prison. It’s not about punishment. It’s just protection. If you could snap and kill a kid, you simply can’t be trusted around people anymore. No matter what triggered it. This is in no way controversial.
It’s not like these baby killers are out curing cancer or something. They can rot in jail and ask God for mercy. We have become way too tolerant of criminality and way too compassionate towards the dregs of society. We have to stop wasting our compassion on baby killers and drug zombies. We have fire victims in Altadena and the Palisades and Spokane and Paradise (still) who are completely screwed and we are using up all our energy and empathy on the worst people in society. Snap out of it, folks.
@seanmdav Neocons had anti-war intel agents like Dan Caldwell removed from the DOD under false pretenses so they could push Trump into the Iran war without anyone counseling him about how difficult/impossible it would be to achieve victory without ground troops.
Literal treason.
@evikokalari@PahlaviReza Some of Diana Bloom's followers. You'll notice the same conspicuous checkmarks astroturfing thousands of these Israel-First bots/nobodies.
@douglassmackey Unless these "teams" are explicitly forced to do real police work, including and especially against non-white suspects, you can count on the teams to investigate offensive internet remarks by white people and arrest them instead.
I have zero faith in Britain's "justice" system.
@robbystarbuck Yes. In this case I also suspect that the paint is meant to literally mark you so you could be tracked down and beaten or killed later by their antifa comrades.
Braindead neocons, who initially claimed low stockpiles were fake news, are now blaming low stockpiles—quite obviously caused by U.S. involvement in Ukraine and Iran—on everyone who told them we didn’t have the stockpiles to support the Ukraine and Iran wars. The very wars they told us had “no downside.”
They are as mendacious as they are incompetent.

🗳️ NEW JERSEY'S REAL PROBLEM WITH THE USPS BALLOT RULE
USPS is NOT verifying citizenship or determining whether someone is eligible to vote. Get that nonsense out of the way because no matter how many times they repeat the lie, that's not what's happening. It's amazing how reading comprehension takes care of that smack.
Here's the REAL problem: New Jersey itself has to create the list of "eligible" voters. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DOESN'T CREATE THE LIST. NEW JERSEY DOES. The list has the voter’s name and address, the unique barcode on the outgoing ballot envelope AND the unique barcode on the return envelope.
In other words, NJ is creating the record of who it is issuing ballots to, not the Feds and not USPS, and those records can be kept for five years. NJ is petrified of how this plays out! Example: Fred Smith is on NJ's voter rolls and gets a mail ballot. He votes by mail with that ballot. A paper trail is created:
Fred Smith → address → ballot issued → outgoing barcode → return barcode.
Two years later, perhaps an independent audit determines Fred Smith wasn't eligible to vote. A USPS ballot barcode didn't discover Fred couldn't vote, BUT that paper trail is a serious problem. NJ ITSELF supplied the information showing that it erroneously issued him a ballot, and a (future) independent investigator has irrefutable proof that Fred did indeed receive a ballot and mailed it in.
THAT is the significance of this whole thing. This isn't t the "voter suppression" BS line they are claiming. They are losing it because this system takes an ineligible name on NJs voter rolls & creates an independent record if NJ actually issues that person a federal mail ballot (and it gets worse if that person actually votes.)
Hmmm...where have we seen ineligible voters actually voting before?
NJ itself alleges roughly 6.6K people who told MVC they were NOT U.S. citizens were registered anyway. The state's latest review says about 5,100 were removed, 1,450 were blocked pending further review, about 340 newly registered through the error voted & another 220 affected people with voting histories "required further review."
Keep in mind, those are New Jersey's numbers. The same state that bungled this mess is now investigating itself, while calls from the @NJAssemblyGOP & @NJSenateGOP for an independent, bipartisan investigation with subpoena power have gone nowhere. So yeah, we're apparently just supposed to take their word for the size and scope of it.
And hot damn and Hallelujah! Here comes a system that could preserve a five-year trail showing whether NJ actually issued federal mail ballots to ineligible voters! Ouch. THAT'S WHY NJ IS FIGHTING IT. This is a little too transparent for @GovSherrillNJ's "transparency" doublespeak. This is why the @NewJerseyOAG, @njassemblydems
& @NJSenDems are flailing about with this.
Ask yourself: Why is NJ fighting the creation of an independent record based on information NEW JERSEY ITSELF supplies?
Easy. It's a record that could be used in a future audit to determine whether this state issues mail-in ballots to ineligible voters.

Hey @ycombinator this is a racist attack aimed at rural White Americans. Your policies mention that you do not tolerate any racism. It states that racial discrimination is a fireable offense. When can we expect you to fire Ankit Gupta?
