@JohnnyGiunta_ Shapiro convinced ownership to offer 700 for Ohtani. He could’ve convinced them to go to a higher number for Vlad. I think ownership would follow Shapiro’s lead here on where the number should be. Ownership has shown willingness to spend big $ - for the right player
@JGoldberg12 And yet he succeeded in SPITE of the organization overlooking him at almost every level. He has to break the doors down and force the organization to take notice. They didn’t see anything in him for far too long. I don’t want to give them any credit for his success
@FAmmiranteTFJ I understand that too. But when your lineup doesn’t score - and the guy at the top is one of the worst qualified hitters in the league for 6 weeks…shaking it up should be on the table. So - the fans aren’t confused. They are frustrated. And rightfully so.
@FAmmiranteTFJ It’s over 150 plate appearances of a sub .300 obp and sub .300 slug! Thats not incredibly small it’s 20% of the season. Combine it with the over 600 plate appearances last year where he demonstrated clear decline. Taking him out of the leadoff spot, for now,may help the offense
