Got a sec to help new and junior lawyers?
If you’re willing, please share: (1) who you are, (2) what you do, and (3) what you wish you knew today that you wish you’d known when you started lawyering.
Let’s break down some of those barriers to this community knowledge!
@FloridaManEsq_ Love this! 1) I'm Chris, a former Army Officer living in Utah, 2) I am a Prosecutor for the City of Salt Lake, 3) Negotiation is key, even in Criminal Law. Criminal law is just as much about rehabilitation as it is on punishment, you have to be fair to serve justice.
@kirkjangel Literally all the time my dude, a day thinking nonstop takes it's toll. I bring electrolytes and protein bars to court and try to have a down day afterwards if possible.
Top for all the law students out there who are interested in litigation, have a chest sheet of the most common evidentiary rules and objections for your type of case handy. Being able to point to a rule or a case on objection has saved my bacon more than once. #lawtwitter
@EzraFBridgers So here is a perspective that kinda supports your point, I was in a NG unit that deployed every 3 years throughout GWOT, no PCSing (because guard). Our commander became commandant of NGB and so did his successor. We were very good, no toxicity, and no PCSing.
@Cpl_Dont_Know I was in one of those NG units with frequent support to Federal missions, it was almost a second full time job and even then we would go through huge train ups before every mission. I doubt most NG units even maintain their base competency unless on notice for deployment.
My home is now partially in rubble. I have no windows on one side anymore. I have minor injuries but I am alive. The fires are everywhere. russia you will pay.
