@katrina_tester Not only is that insulting it’s also an incredibly stupid approach to selling. ~80% of my revenue comes from customers where either the executive champion or a key technical decision maker is female.
@FionaCCharles It’s sad that there is an implicit fear in asking about the future of software testing. I don’t sense that same fear when people as about the future of software development.
We need to think about the future of software testing without the notion that we will all be replaced.
@katrina_tester The questions are not the “secret sauce” . The key is; understanding of work required, understanding of organizational standards, and skeptical mindset.
Also, team members doing the technical screening tend to drill down. They don’t want a reputation of “letting people through”.
@katrina_tester We catch most of these by having a technical team member, who would either work with or manage the recruit, do a 30 min technical interview before any panel interview. Once you’ve wasted time on in person or panel interviews with people you don’t want to inflict that on others.
@katrina_tester Super important and also super challenging. As a manager I’m constantly thinking about how to integrate people with diverse perspectives into a cohesive team.
