I’ll get on board with Voter ID as long as (A) it’s free of charge, (B) is automatically issued to every citizen at the age of 18 and (C) is easily accessible to ALL people of voting age.
If someone doesn’t agree with that, it’s because it’s not really about voter ID. It’s about voter suppression.
We are announcing today that The American Revolution will stream for free in its entirety on all PBS platforms from May 25th through July 12. Hope you have a chance to watch, ideally with friends and family, as you think about our 250th anniversary this July 4th. https://t.co/c8fc6Sldj5
Isn’t it kind of telling on yourself that the second SCOTUS guts the Voting Rights Act and Alito claims “we’ve moved past racism” the VERY FIRST thing that happens is that all of the Southern States, of ALL places, rushes to eliminate any of their majority Black districts
This is one of the hardest but also one of the most important warnings from the history of Auschwitz coming to us today.
Perpetrators were people who accepted and followed an ideology that made them believe that they were better than others, an ideology that rationalized and promoted hatred and evil. This ideology became part of their everyday lives and environment.
They were not monsters. They were people: fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters. They were farmers, doctors, bakers, bankers, architects, or carpenters. They had their family joys and problems, favorite desserts or songs, hobbies or fears. They were people like us.
But they also perpetrated horrible, monstrous acts on behalf of the ideology they believed in.
Dehumanizing all the „others” was a tool that helped them achieve their goal. The perpetrators thought of themselves as moral people. And this is the scary part of this history.
We should not and cannot dehumanize them, as their story and choices are the human warning. For us all.
Has anyone ever explained how they went from Jefferson Airplane and "White Rabbit" to Starship and "We Built This City"? Like, how was that even possible?
🏁 Hobby moto-crossing is gaining popularity in Hungary
Full-scale competitions are already being held — just like real motocross, with one exception.
There are no motorcycles. Participants simply run along the track holding handlebars and compete for speed.
If you want voter ID, you need three things:
1. Government provides it. It never expires.
2. Government pays for the IDs.
3. Law kicks in ONLY after government has gotten IDs for every registered voter.
Do those three and NO ONE will complain about the bill.
Many are justifying the Kyle Tucker signing, by saying that any owner could spend like the Dodgers but “they just don’t want to win enough”. This is the most idiotic take I’ve ever seen. It shows you know nothing about the business side of the game.
MLB let Dodgers keep almost all of their TV Money. They are the only team that gets to do this because of negotiations during the McCourt Bankruptcy.
After the bankruptcy settlement, They negotiated the largest local TV deal in all of MLB but the settlement amount subject to revenue share was based on the OLD contract. They do not have to share most of their TV money and this is what allows the insane spending. Again, they are 1 of 30 teams to get this carveout from the league and the only team who could even attempt to spend like this.
Stop saying other owners are cheap. None of them have a special exemption on revenue sharing for their TV contracts like the Dodgers do. MLB Created this situation.
The Yankees literally play in the most pitcher neutral park in baseball. It’s embarrassing that we’re in the year 2026 and we still have to say this to people.
Yes, there’s a short porch in right field. But wait until you learn about left center…
How many times do we need to post the same screenshot from Baseball Savant before people realize they have no idea what they’re talking about?
