It was touching to note that already in the first couple of weeks of publication there were many hundreds of purchases and many beautiful reviews coming through. As it states on Amazon:
"The Global Catastrophe that is Evidence-Based Medicine provides an engaging and deeply insightful look into one of the most important and controversial issues in modern healthcare. It is an essential read for anyone concerned about the future of healthcare (including their own health) and the ways in which science and medicine can be manipulated for profit and power.
We are spending more and more money on healthcare and yet are ever increasingly unwell as is the physical and mental health of our children. In addition, our life expectancy is not only reducing, but so too is end of life quality with an increase in dementia and other devastating conditions.
It is as if the more we spend the worse we get. What is going on?
How did we set up such a diabolical system? Who is responsible, how did they do it, why does it continue to escalate at alarming rates and what can we do about it?
This book provides the answers, and they will surprise you. The Global Catastrophe that is Evidence-Based Medicine is a great read. The first two people to read the book were a lay person and a doctor. They both said they could not put it down.
The book is backed by 701 citations that do not need to be read to enjoy and understand what is presented, but can provide support for those who prefer to go into more detail.
The global healthcare landscape has become a topic of increasing scrutiny in recent years, particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. People are more aware than ever of the limitations and biases within healthcare systems. The Global Catastrophe that is Evidence-Based Medicine provides a comprehensive, non-political, evidence-backed account of the systemic problems in healthcare.
With increasing interest in alternative approaches to health, evidence-based medicine is a key area of concern for those questioning the status quo. The book will resonate with readers who are interested in understanding the broader implications of scientific corruption, the intersection of politics and medicine, and the ongoing efforts to control public health narratives.
What sets The Global Catastrophe apart is its combination of in-depth analysis, personal experience and practical solutions. This book is not simply a critique of modern medicine — it is a roadmap for how individuals, medical professionals and organisations can take back control of their health and medical practice.
Deeper Understanding: The book does not merely identify problems; it offers readers a deep understanding of the underlying causes and connects disparate issues in healthcare, from corruption in clinical trials to the broader social and economic forces at play.
Joyful and Empowering: Unlike many other books that focus solely on the negative aspects of healthcare, this book has an empowering and optimistic tone. It aims to inspire readers to take action—either individually or collectively—without feeling hopeless about the state of the system.
Practical Advice:
It offers actionable insights for medical professionals, healthcare workers, and everyday people, empowering them with knowledge to make better health decisions and advocate for themselves and their communities.

Dr Christoph Schnelle has a great ability to bring such a huge topic in a way where he has broken it down into a language we all can follow and consequently deepen with. Reading the book brought so much more to the fore and I realised that there is so much more going on than meets the eyes. I have family members I want to share this book with. Health is everything and important for us all.
My latest book is out “When Medical Excellence is Not Enough” https://t.co/q3BGxuGgR6 and https://t.co/K6SzJ6rspl
From the back cover:
How many ways do I love thee? Medical doctors express this by healing their patients, although most refute the word ‘healing’. Many doctors care deeply and are excellent at treating patients, so why is population health declining rapidly, and why are so many doctors distressed and facing burnout?
Doctors are among the most beautiful members of our communities but have been deeply disempowered. This book, backed by extensive research, is a love letter to doctors to claim their power back and to improve population health again, and to the public to support their doctors in that process. A great read for doctors, health professionals, patients, regulators and legislators.
Christoph Schnelle is an Australian-based expert in medical research, with over 500 citations, author of The Global Catastrophe that is Evidence-Based Medicine, first author of 10 published medical research papers and five patents. In 2023, he completed a PhD on what makes an exceptionally good doctor. With a background in research, business, software development and as a full-time financial adviser and member of the Society of Trust and Estate Professionals (STEP), Christoph Schnelle brings a unique perspective to medical doctors and evidence-based medicine.
This is the 11th publication in the Empowering Doctors series, after eight published peer-reviewed scientific articles, a PhD thesis and Christoph's insightful, widely researched and deeply readable book The Global Catastrophe that is Evidence-Based Medicine.

@jordanschochet@izakaminska I know Vanguard ETFs quite well and their tracking error from the index minus costs is minimal. I presume with the multi-authorised participants ETF the damage is when you buy and sell but not when you hold them.
@jordanschochet@izakaminska Thank you, Jordan Does that include ETFs from BlackRock, StateStreet, Betashares, Vanguard, i.e. single AP ETFs? It would be very interesting if they extract 1%+ per year.
Is there a way to quantify the damage or 'value extraction' other than through a simulation exercise, for example by following trading data vs index behaviour? It would be interesting if the AP extract a substantial part of any capital gain accrued for the investors as a whole. Does this also apply to ETFs issued by providers such as State Street, BlackRock, Betashares, Vanguard?
How big is the actual damage and how does an investor protect themselves? Stay away from multi-AP ETFs?
@matt_barrie Sort your listing by price and you will have a pretty good idea of the hidden price from the listings that show the price. If there are too few sales in the area, widen your search to include more listings that show the asking price.
@izakaminska That has been my experience as well. Very, very intolerant commentators jumping on anything they didn’t like but that included a lot of non-bots as well.
I wrote a long essay about why Donroe Doctrine also applies to US financial reach. And why - in that context - USD stablecoins now become a staging ground for accession into the American zone. Much the way countries have to peg to the euro before joining the eurosystem.
Except in this case the whole thing is decentralized and based on consumer will not government will.
