I can think of several reasons, but the most compelling is to enable Putin to save face with his people. This aligns with Sun Tzu's advice to military leaders to build a 'golden bridge' for retreat, allowing an opponent to withdraw honorably. Trump is offering him this 'golden bridge.' While many would like to see Putin rot in jail, that's not realistic today, ultimately, it's up to his people to decide his fate.

As a lifelong liberal Democrat, I'm growing weary of the constant criticism of Elon Musk. Please stop hopping on the Elon-bashing bandwagon, or I'll be forced to seek out a new community.

It's crucial that we address the real issues at hand. We need more self-awareness within the center-left about how our own failures have fueled the rise of populism.

I found your video about Elon Musk a bit confusing. It seems like you're presenting what you want to believe rather than what might actually be happening. I agree with your perspective on inequality and how the actions of the wealthy contribute to it. However, this group typically operates in the shadows, making them a faceless entity and hard to pinpoint as the direct cause of societal problems.

What I noticed is that you and others might be using Elon Musk as a proxy for this group. While he's often seen as a maverick, even clashing with the interests of this shadowy elite, he's not necessarily part of their circle. His motives are indeed questionable, but they don't seem to be solely about accumulating wealth for wealth's sake. Instead, Musk appears more focused on pushing for deregulation, which he believes is obstructing his company's visions.

Moreover, unlike what might be assumed about the intentions of the elite, Musk doesn't appear to want to keep the poor down. Many of his statements suggest he aims for the opposite—he wants a successful and prosperous future for mankind. His actions might be misguided, as the saying goes, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions," but his intentions don't seem to be about maintaining poverty but rather about advancing human progress. Whether he's on the right path, only time will tell.
