Good morning from Dessau. A red bike passes by the Bauhaus Museum, the second largest collection of Bauhaus-related objects (the largest is in Berlin, another cradle, besides Weimar and Dessau, of this art movement and aesthetic). #thelittlebookofbikes#bikephoto#redbike
There are 500 million bikes in China, but did you know that compared to the late 1980s, when almost 70% of the Chinese people cycled daily, the number plummeted to a measly 10% in the early 2010s?

Summer, North Sea 🌊
2009 vs 2022 (spot the differences), same place at Scheveningen beach, The Hague.
Main difference: in 2022 I bit the bullet and actually went for a swim (= squirm convulsively in the freezing water and get out in 3 minutes looking like an ice pop with feet)
As some stories go, these cones grow in a tree. When they are large enough to be picked, then it's time for school!
Pictured: tiny Schultüte window decorations seen in Erfurt, and increasingly bigger cones (who eats so many sweets?!) seen in shops in Jena. 2/2
School already started in some parts of Germany, and kids are carrying around their "school cones" or "sugar cones" with sweets and goodies.

The oldest accounts are 200 years old and mention them in Jena, Dresden and Leipzig. 1/2

#didyouknow Most of the flower bikes in Amsterdam are the loving works of Warren Gregory, a local expat who made one first for his wife, who kept losing hers in the sea of identical bikes in the parking lots.

@slowberlin An old school question (because I played around with AI and have seen the things it inocently serves as truth), why is it better - or an alternative, for that matter - to good old Google? Ah, nvm, I just saw it was a Matador network app. I thought it was a one-man show and idea.
I just entered the #UpInLights Contest. If you can spare a moment, please drop a vote for me, so my book can be featured on a billboard in Time's Square!
Thank you!

The Bolwoningen, Ball Houses, an alien-looking neighbourhood in s'Hertogenbosch (NL), landed there in 1984 as a project for experimental housing by artist Dries Kreijkamp, who considered that the most natural shape for humans' accommodation was round. 1/2
