It's 31 years ago to the day that this was broadcast - for my money one of the most joyous bits of TV ever committed to celluloid.
It is, of course, Mr Sting's appearence on The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer.
Chitter chatter chit
In a ground-breaking move for local football, every resident in Thornaby-On-Tees is being offered a fully funded season ticket to watch over 40 Thornaby FC men and women's home league games for the 2026/27 season.
Thanks to an unprecedented partnership between Thornaby FC and Thornaby Town Council, this is believed to be the first time funded football season tickets have been made available at this scale.
With over 10,000 households and approximately 24,000 people eligible, the scheme marks the largest single community initiative in the football club's history.
Eligible residents must act quickly to secure their funded season tickets before the summer deadline of July 31st.
To qualify, you must reside in a household paying the Thornaby Town Parish Council precept and, importantly, tickets can be claimed for each individual member of that household.
For those living outside the eligible boundary, Thornaby FC will be announcing its paid season ticket and matchday admission prices tomorrow.
Residents should complete the online claim form and then bring proof of their council tax to the club upon collection.

If Southampton genuinely didn’t know they were breaking the rules, why scramble around to delete footage and LinkedIn profiles? And what about the culture at the club where junior employees were pressurised into doing things they knew were wrong? No mention of that.
This really is quite something. The frankness is to be applauded. But the apology is still accompanied by a real belief that fundamentally Southampton haven’t done anything wrong. And the lack of any accountability at the top of Southampton remains remarkable…
You voted Hayden Hackney as Boro's Player of the Season for 2025/26 🏆
Aidan Morris was a close second in the voting, with top scorer Morgan Whittaker third and Luke Ayling rounding off the top four 👏

#Boro fans storm the National Gallery with the light & dynamism of a Caravaggio. Great night. Highly charged atmosphere of optimism and hope. Thousands there. Loads of beaming kids there for the first time, making memories & charging their cultural batteries. These things matter.
"It's a big blow. We've lost a player who has been one of our best in the last five or six games, he's been fantastic for me. I feel for him, but he'll travel with us and support the lads." - Kim Hellberg on Tommy Conway's injury 😞💔

"We have a massive chance to make Middlesbrough a Premier League club again. Every time I walk out as captain, I have to pinch myself. I'm a lad from Berwick Hills, this is everything I dreamed of. My end goal for this season is getting Middlesbrough promoted. We don't know the team, but if I do get to lead the team out as captain at Wembley, it's something I'd be immensely proud of." - Dael Fry 🥹❤️
