A seal found on Lewis beach today. Entangled in net, wound indicates long time & considerable pain, body fat suggests starvation. Plastic in our seas is killing our marine life. We need to stop it going in & clean up what is there.

So much for most marine litter being ‘ land sourced ‘ what a load of misinformed tosh , 99% of this litter has been dumped in the sea by the fishing & shipping industry , including 75 litres of old engine oil in drums , Worbarrow bay Dorset’s World Heritage Site , says it all

For this weeks Shark Sunday we are looking at something a bit different…take a look at this eye! This is from a small-spotted catshark and like cats they have a layer of reflective cells behind their retina which allows them to see better in dark and cloudy waters. #lovewildlife
