Southwest Gas demonstrated their advanced mobile leak detection vehicles for the ACC's Safety Division. These units offer a wider detection field to enhance safety. Safety Division members got the chance to experience the technology, and check out real time evaluations.
Owl Rescue: Jacob, an ACC Railroad Inspector, found an injured owl while inspecting a railroad crossing in the town of Bowie, AZ. He turned it over to the Tucson Wildlife Center, where it will be treated for his eye injury. “Safety is the priority. Quality is the standard."
The ACC Railroad Safety Division answered the call for help in Miami: Several culverts under a railroad track were still clogged after last month's deadly flooding. An ACC crew was onsite, & helped clear out the culverts, to prevent future flooding at Miami Jr. Sr. High School
Federal Pipeline Safety officials conduct annual evaluations of the ACC's enforcement of Arizona excavation damage prevention law. ACC's Safety Division continues to earn adequate ratings. Excavation damage is a top cause of pipeline failures, which could cause deaths/injuries

Call before you dig & post: Campaigns should call the AZ Blue Stake Center at 811 at least 2 days prior to placing signs to have underground utilities marked, per the Arizona Underground Facilities Law. Failure to do so can carry a fine of up to $5,000 per incident.
