The City of San Antonio just hit us with a quick reality check on Project Marvel.
The new downtown Spurs arena is still moving forward, but a breakdown by the @sareport shows that soaring real-world costs are forcing some major cuts to that original "sports utopia" blueprint which was pitched to voters. 📉
Here is what’s already been scratched or paused just to keep the core arena alive:
❌ **The 1,000-room convention hotel** (dropped)
❌ **The I-37 land bridge** to the East Side (scrapped)
❌ **Federal courthouse concert venue** (put on pause)
❌ **The hospitality school** (completely gone)
We are still on track for a shiny new home for the team, but the massive, all-inclusive entertainment district surrounding it is shrinking into a much leaner, arena-first reality. 🏗️🏀 #Spurs #ProjectMarvel
106 wins.
17 years.
We’ve seen the rain in Silverstone.
The dominance. The heartbreak. The “still we rise.”
We’ve seen him win in ways that didn’t even feel possible.
And just when it felt like maybe…we’d already seen everything. He shows up in red, and does it again.
Same kid who started it all.
Just a different chapter now.
We didn’t just watch a career.
We lived through it.
And somehow, it’s still not over 🥺❤️
oscar saying “lando has a height advantage here which you don’t often say about lando norris” which hes standing next to literal kids is so fucking funny 😭😭😭
