This is amazing. @Tesla has installed a 4D radar imaging system embedded in the first-row header of the new Model Y.

A software update expected in Q3 will activate the system, enabling dynamic airbag deployment based on passenger size and positioning.

Additionally, the system will detect if there is a child left behind in the second row and monitor heart rate and breathing. In emergency situations, it can call 911, open the windows, and turn on HVAC if needed.

Incredible work by the Tesla team!

Our new hand/forearm with double the number of degrees of freedom now in action on the bot! There’s 22 DoFs on the hand, and 3 on the wrist/forearm.

This little video was made last night in the lab (teleoperated) and is real-time. Gives us confidence that we’ll very soon be making all new bots with those on.

Still some work to finish by end of year, in particular around extended tactile sensing integration (much more surface coverage than the previous hand), very fine controls through tendons, and shaving some weight off the forearm. All actuation has been moved to the forearm, which has increased its weight.

Interesting challenge around having enough squishiness/compliance and a protective layer on the fingers & palm, without affecting tactile sensing too much.

I entered into El Salvadors mega prison know as The Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), it is home to some of the most dangerous gangs and gangsters in the world. El Salvador was once controlled by these gangs and known as the most dangerous country in the world, it is now the safest country in the western hemisphere thanks to @nayibbukele and his administration for their extreme crackdown on these gangs.

Inside CECOT it is capable of holding over 40,000 inmates and is literally impossible to escape, with walls over 9 meters and an additional 3 meters of electrical fencing and 27 watch towers El Salvador is making sure these prisoners never see the outside world again.

In this video I will walk you through CECOT and show you the processes and extreme security measures El Salvador is taking to ensure it stays the safest country in the western hemisphere. As well I will go face to face with these prisoners showing what life is like for a prisoner inside CECOT.
