19 May is not only a Greek day of mourning.

It is the day Ankara’s map is put on trial.

Pontus was not a footnote. Smyrna was not erased by Izmir. Trebizond still breathes beneath Trabzon. Amisos beneath Samsun. Kerasous beneath Giresun. Kotyora beneath Ordu. Amasia beneath Amasya. Constantinople beneath Istanbul.

These names are not nostalgia.

They are evidence.

This is the obscenity of 19 May.

Turkey marks it as the beginning of Atatürk’s national struggle. Pontus remembers it as its death certificate.

But the deeper crime is not the calendar.

It is the myth.

To give birth to a nation claiming Turanian purity, Ankara had to erase the Anatolia that proved otherwise.

The state did not only kill “outsiders”.

It devoured the peoples that constituted its society.

Greek Anatolia.
Armenian Anatolia.
Assyrian Anatolia.
Kurdish Anatolia.
Laz, Georgian, Circassian, Jewish and Arab Anatolia.
The witnesses had to disappear because they unmasked the fraud.
A place name is an archive. A surname is a confession. A family silence outlives a state archive.
Ankara did not only rename cities.
Then it renamed people.
Grandmothers became rumours.
Grandfathers became omissions.
Churches became trophies.
Languages became kitchen whispers.
Villages became coordinates under Turkish signs.

Pan-Turanism is the lie: take language, add arrows, graft ancestry, erase the converted, the absorbed, the murdered, the renamed and the unnameable, then call the result destiny.

That is why Pontus matters.

It was not only a victim.
It was evidence.
And evidence had to be destroyed.

The Greek Genocide was not only the murder of Pontic Greeks. It was the destruction of a civilisation: Pontus, Ionia, Cappadocia, Eastern Thrace, Smyrna.
The method was simple: kill the people, empty the villages, seize the churches, silence the schools, take the houses, rename the map, then accuse the dead of provocation.
This is why Ankara still panics when the old names return.
A name reopens the file.
A name breaks the alibi.

And there is something darker still.

Modern Turkey was not born from a sanitised Central Asian myth. Anatolia was Greek, Armenian, Assyrian, Kurdish, Laz, Georgian, Circassian, Jewish and Arab before Ankara compressed it into one state orthodoxy.

Many citizens of today’s Turkey carry the ancestry, surnames, family silences and converted memories of the very peoples the state tried to erase.

That is why this was also historical cannibalism.
A state ate its own past, then called the digestion nation-building.

Armenians.
Assyrians.
Greeks of Pontus and Asia Minor.
Smyrna in flames.
The emptied villages.
The renamed cities.
The churches turned into trophies.
The archives locked, mocked and denied.

This is not a tragedy Turkey inherited.

It is Ankara’s catalogue of crimes against humanity.

And the catalogue did not close in 1923.

It returned in Cyprus in 1974, when invasion became occupation.

It returned against the Kurds as policy: destroyed villages, forced displacement, emergency rule and the outlawing of Kurdishness.

The lesson is not hatred.

The lesson is unauthorised memory.

Because Hitler understood the usefulness of forgotten crimes. The line attributed to him before the invasion of Poland still burns through history:

“Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?”

We speak.
For every erased name.
For every people Ankara tried to bury under a new signpost.
We do not remember for the dead.
We remember for the living, and for those who would repeat their crimes if the world teaches them that amnesia is impunity and memory can be murdered too.

Η πραγματικότητα είναι πιο αποκαλυπτική από από οποιοδήποτε παραλήρημα.

Δεν είναι το ΕΛΑΜ, αλλά η κα Δημητρίου, που εμφανίζεται στις λεγόμενες πορείες «περηφάνειας», υιοθετώντας ατζέντες ξένες προς τις αρχές της παραδοσιακής Δεξιάς.
Δεν είναι το ΕΛΑΜ, αλλά η κα Δημητρίου, που απαξίωσε τον Αρχηγό Διγενή, αποκαλώντας τον «οποιονδήποτε».

Δεν είναι το ΕΛΑΜ, αλλά η κα Δημητρίου που ψήφισε τον κατάπτυστο νόμο Ακιντζί, προσφέροντας πολιτική κάλυψη στις τουρκικές επιδιώξεις.
Δεν είναι το ΕΛΑΜ αλλά η κα. Δημητρίου που πρότεινε θετική ψήφο των Τουρκοκυπρίων, ανοίγοντας ακόμα περισσότερο την όρεξη της Τουρκίας.

Η σχέση της κας Δημητρίου με την πατριωτική Δεξιά είναι περιστασιακή και αυστηρά προεκλογική. Εμφανίζεται μόνο όταν ζητούνται ψήφοι και εξαφανίζεται όταν απαιτούνται πράξεις.

Σε ό,τι αφορά τα περί «αποτυχημένων ψηφισμάτων», να είμαστε ξεκάθαροι. Για να αποτύχει ένα ψήφισμα, πρέπει πρώτα να κατατεθεί. Το ΕΛΑΜ ήταν εκεί. Για πρώτη φορά τα τελευταία επτά χρόνια εγγράφηκε συζήτηση για καταδίκη του ψευδοκράτους δύο φορές, αποκλειστικά με πρωτοβουλία του ΕΛΑΜ. Τα προηγούμενα χρόνια δεν υπήρξε καμία τέτοια ενέργεια. Καμία.

Πατριωτισμός δεν είναι οι όψιμες δηλώσεις. Πατριωτισμός είναι η ξεκάθαρη, χωρίς εκπτώσεις, καταδίκη της Τουρκίας και του ψευδοκράτους, χωρίς παρασκηνιακά παζάρια και χωρίς φόβο πολιτικού κόστους.

Πατριωτισμός είναι, από τον πρώτο χρόνο παρουσίας του ΕΛΑΜ, να τίθεται το Κυπριακό εκεί όπου ανήκει, με συγκεκριμένες δράσεις και πολιτικές πρωτοβουλίες.

Λαϊκισμός δεν είναι η λαϊκή πατριωτική συντηρητική Δεξιά. Λαϊκισμός είναι η επιλεκτική μνήμη. Γιατί μαζί με την Αριστερά ψήφισαν τον νόμο Ακιντζί. Μαζί καταψήφισαν την καταδίκη του Ερντογάν και του ψευδοκράτους στην Ευρωβουλή, δύο φορές. Μαζί στήριξαν υποψήφιο της Αριστεράς στις Προεδρικές Εκλογές, σε μια κρίσιμη γεωπολιτική συγκυρία, ρισκάροντας την ασφάλεια και τη σταθερότητα του τόπου.

Όταν το ΕΛΑΜ ψήφισε με άλλες δυνάμεις, όπως στη συμφωνία Mercosur, το έκανε για να προστατευθεί η κυπριακή γεωργία και οι αγρότες. Όχι για ιδεολογικά παιχνίδια ούτε για μικροκομματικά οφέλη.

Η πατριωτική Δεξιά δεν ορίζεται με δηλώσεις. Κρίνεται από στάση, συνέπεια και πράξεις. Και σε αυτό το πεδίο, κάποιοι δεν δικαιούνται να μιλούν.

Ακόμη μία φορά, η UEFA εκθέτει τον εαυτό της, εφαρμόζοντας κατά το δοκούν «κανονισμούς» και επιδεικνύοντας προκλητική επιλεκτικότητα. Στο Λονδίνο ενοχλήθηκαν από το πανό του ήρωα Ευαγόρα Παλληκαρίδη και απαίτησαν την άμεση απομάκρυνσή του.

Την ίδια ώρα, στην Κωνσταντινούπολη, το κατάπτυστο σύμβολο του ψευδοκράτους ήταν αναρτημένο σε αγώνα της Γαλατασαράι για 90 λεπτά, χωρίς καμία αντίδραση.

Για την UEFA, προφανώς, η ιστορική μνήμη ενοχλεί περισσότερο από την κατοχή.

Η στάση αυτή δεν είναι απλώς υποκριτική, είναι εξοργιστική.

Αναμένουμε άμεση και ξεκάθαρη αντίδραση από την ΚΟΠ.

ΥΓ: Ο Βαγορής ανέβηκε πολύ ψηλά και εκεί που βρίσκεται κανένας δεν μπορεί ούτε να τον φθάσει ούτε να τον κατεβάσει.

Στις 15 Ιανουαρίου 1950 πραγματοποιήθηκε στην Κύπρο, με πρωτοβουλία της Εκκλησίας, το Ενωτικό Δημοψήφισμα. Η τεράστια πλειοψηφία του Ελληνισμού της Κύπρου δήλωσε ξεκάθαρα, μέσα από την ψήφο της, την αταλάντευτη επιθυμία της για Ένωση με την Μητέρα Πατρίδα Ελλάδα.

Η σημερινή ημέρα, για το ΕΛΑΜ, αποτελεί ημέρα εθνικής μνήμης και τιμής. Αυτή η μέρα, είναι μια υπενθύμιση ότι οι πρόγονοί μας στάθηκαν όρθιοι και δεν αποδέχθηκαν ποτέ την υποδούλωση σε ξένες δυνάμεις.

Αυτή η βούληση δεν έμεινε απλώς καταγεγραμμένη στην ιστορία, αλλά μετατράπηκε σε πράξη μέσα από τον αγώνα της ΕΟΚΑ, η οποία ανέλαβε τον ιστορικό ρόλο να διεκδικήσει έμπρακτα την ελευθερία και την Ένωση με την Μητέρα Πατρίδα.

Η ιστορική αλήθεια είναι καταγεγραμμένη και όσοι επιχειρούν να τη διαστρεβλώσουν, όπως έκανε και το ΔΗΣΑΚΕΛ ακολουθώντας τις υποδείξεις του κάθε Ακκιντζί, θα μας βρίσκουν αποφασιστικά απέναντί τους.

«Εμπρός Κύπριοι, με ενότητα και αποφασιστικότητα, στον αγώνα του Δημοψηφίσματος, για την εθνική μας δικαίωση και την Ένωση με την αθάνατη Μητέρα Ελλάδα».
