Accessibility has been a big topic over the last 24 hours – and rightly so. https://t.co/zgaDlY95XV
As designers, a key part of our job is making sure our work is clear, legible, and enjoyable – for everyone – the moment it’s seen.
Many early examples of Apple’s new Liquid Glass design system appear to miss that mark – and as an active beta tester, some of it has left me scratching my head.
However 👀
After watching their “Meet Liquid Glass” deep dive, their team is incredibly excited and passionate about this direction (as am I), and I’m convinced what we’re seeing now isn’t a true representation of the final product we’ll see in the Fall.
“Its primary goal is to remain visually clear, differing to the content underneath… constantly, subtly changing to ensure legibility.” - Shubham Kedia, Human Interface Designer, Apple
Shubham emphasizes that effects like shadows “become more prominent to create additional separation” and that “the amount of tint and the dynamic range shift to always ensure buttons remain legible.”
It’s clear (no pun intended) that Apple understands the unique design challenges that come along with this new system, and also the need to make it as accessible as possible – which leads me to further believe that these experiences will shine once released to the general public.
I'm excited to see companies like Apple embrace material and depth again in a world long dominated by flat design.

@Pinsky@Franz94889424 I miss the Friday Masterclass sessions that were online. I think in person events are nice, but the online community is so important.

Just hours after taking the oath of office, Donald Trump took down https://t.co/mM8VKA42q2 — a website to help women find health care and understand their rights.
They’re wasting no time assaulting freedom.
“I had a woman say to me, just know you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick," Moore said in her acceptance speech. https://t.co/YeVF05fsms
It’s time, President Bush. Your father was a champion for Puerto Rico statehood and viewed as a hero by the Puerto Rican people. Please stand up for them now.
