Odd terminology: once boosters kick in pop-wide,we'll be saying Omi effectively became "more severe" than omi is now (bc fewer reinfections=avg moves)

But i don't think we are saying that for a given person who gets O, their illness is significantly likely to be less severe than if they had D?

@facesake This is v tricky.imho gov should support ppl in various sectors who can't work as much as usual atm due to covid issues. But in absence of that, some shows cld step up&pay wages during breaks on proviso that ppl stay home, stay safe and show can come back sooner = better for all

@facesake I hadn't appreciated that was part of the contract changes, thanks for explaining it. Imho you shouldn't have been put in that position, at least where we are talking about shows cancelled during a run rather than the run ending

@facesake I feel like this needs to be much more widely known (and then challenged and changed). It's not acceptable to me for employees who are ready and willing to work not to be paid if the show is cancelled

@georgina_castle hi, I saw your tweet and was concerned by the stats as 10k or 11k non-covid excess deaths would be a huge concern. However it turns out it's ~11k total deaths, not excess deaths. Weekly excess deaths w/e 3 dec was 1,236 of which 792 involved covid (eng +wales)

@DannyColliganUK I think we need to rethink what our expectations are of theatre cast and company. And some other jobs too. If 'you signed up for this' was the answer then we would never try to improve anyone's working conditions.
