Very proud to share the exciting research from the Yerbury lab developing a novel BioPROTAC for SOD1-ALS at the Neuro4d conference in Mainz, Germany. Thank you @FightMND for funding this research, allowing us to bring the brilliant idea of @jjyerbury to fruition.
FightMND’s Big Freeze and blue beanies could soon go global if the world's top doctors have their way. They're in Melbourne for Australia’s first MND roundtable, revealing their admiration of Neale Daniher's quest for a cure. https://t.co/5zYfOfFT4D @NickMcCallum7#7NEWS
And tell me it’s not your responsibility because the last flight wasn’t Qantas. I’m here for work and it’s -7C and you tell me I can buy toiletries and emergency clothes but won’t tell me what I can spend that will definitely be reimbursed. Won’t chose Qantas again (2/2)
@Qantas your customer service is woeful. You delay my flight out of Sydney, causing me to miss my connecting flight in London, you don’t tell London even though you have 24 hours notice, you book me on 3 extra flights taking my total trip to 45 hours, then you lose my bags (1/2)
@THEMONTHLY Rachel your writing always resonates with me. I too have wondered what it takes to be so driven by cruelty not just to indigenous people but to asylum seekers and refugees.
Professor @jjyerbury@uowresearch leads a research program that has challenged prevailing thought about the pathology of Motor Neuron Disease, a degenerative disease with no known cure. #MND
@benschneiders@timinclimate Thank you for writing these pieces Ben. I left medical research 20 years ago because I didn’t want the insecure future you describe so well. It speaks volumes about our society that research is not valued and researchers supported accordingly.
@CraigCashman3 @aid_taz@JaneCaro Not tyrannical patriarchy but societal expectations of both men and women. If it were more acceptable for men to work part time then many of these issues could be addressed.
@Hareeba@rollo75@RobynVictoria27@barbvee@JaneCaro@SatPaper Society wins by removing a system of entrenched inequality. Children win by socialising with other children from different walks of life. Australia wins by improving education standards across the population. If you need evidence, see Finland
@SharazDavid And those very same nurses, teachers and retail workers don’t rate in what makes Australia “good”. Only those who want to start a business.
