@Bench_Analytics@Hugoscp10@LegendEskimoBoy I agree head to head should be, but if you have to pick either goals scored or goals conceded to be the tie breaker, the logic for it being goals scored is that it rewards winning. Not even accounting for the fact that it is a sport meant to entertain.
@Bench_Analytics@Hugoscp10@LegendEskimoBoy Because scoring is the requirement to win. If a team is completely tied on points, one team has 38 points from 1-1 games, and the other 38 points from 0-0 games, the logic goes back to the original you must at least score a goal to win. One team did more at the heart of the game.
@Bench_Analytics@Hugoscp10@LegendEskimoBoy In both situations the defense played perfectly and don’t concede. The point is that is not enough to win. Which is why goals scored is more “important”
@Bench_Analytics@Hugoscp10@LegendEskimoBoy This is a circular argument. Your point is you have to concede less to win. Of course that’s true. They’re obviously both very important. That’s why we have to bring the analysis down to the lowest level. Which would be the 1-0 vs 0-0 argument.
@Bench_Analytics@LegendEskimoBoy You still needed to score to win. The basic logic is defending lets you not lose games. You need to score to win, which is why the goals scored is the next tie breaker.
