Right now, the cutoff for OAS (paid through general revenue) starts at $95K, almost double the median income.
If you're over 75, you still get reduced OAS payments when you're bringing in 150K.

@JohnThomsonSK Weirdly enough also, the Governor of the Bank of Canada is not required to speak French, but seemingly a private corporation like Air Canada does.
@laxbird@brianlilley 🙄Yes there are, and I'm one of them. According to the 2021 Census, there are over a million French speaking Canadian outside of Quebec, with Ontario having the largest share at 600k+.
